I think what they are missing is that they are constructing a clock, which was invented by Christians, on a time scale discovered by pagans, whose design was created by Europeans, and engineered by Europeans. So its like they buy a fancy Rolex and they think they accomplished something. Shoosh, hey abdul, go to any pawn shop and pick out a Rolex, it still keeps non-moooslum time.

I believe GMT has something to do with the people who actually advanced navigation and explored the oceans, creating a need for longitude and latitude, worldwide time standards and highly accurate time pieces to make the necessary calculations.
Coming into a lot of accidental oil wealth and building a big tower and a big clock is not in the same category of ‘accomplishment’.
