DAYTON APPARENT DFL WINNER; KELLIHER REFUSES TO CONCEDE

Former U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton appears to narrowly have won the Democratic-Farmer-Labor nomination for Minnesota governor early today. Dayton came from behind to apparently defeat state House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher, the DFL endorsed candidate who had led in early returns. The Associated Press declared Dayton the winner at 12:25 a.m. But Kelliher refused to concede defeat. "We're going to make sure every vote counts," she said. Dayton said he wouldn't declare victory until the results are final and he hears from Kelliher. "I totally respect Speaker Kelliher's preogative to wait until every vote is counted," he said.

Amazing, isn’t it. The Democrats are all about “making every vote count.” Sometimes more than once, if they can manage it.

Yep--just heard it on the news break during Rush.

Dayton? Really? I hope voters don't forget how he tucked his tail between his legs and ran from DC at the first hint of a terrorist threat to the Capitol.

Now that was classic Dayton.

What is amazing is that MN continues to elect people like Al Franken, Jessie V etc. etc. Dayton quit the congress rated worst out of 100 senators - now they chose him over anyone with real pulse.

Dayton has promised to raise taxes on the “rich” in Minnesota which by his standards is anyone making over $130,000 and impose a millionaires tax that will particularly affect members of the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. While this class envy punish the rich rhetoric might play well with blue collar Democrats on the Iron Range and in union halls, most average Minnesotans believe they are taxed enough already. Dayton also narrowly defeated the candidate nominated by the DFL machine with the blessing of Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar. I don’t think Dayton has a chance in November.

Emmer will dismantle him in debates...I can’t wait for the first sentence with, “rich people don’t pay their fair share!”.
