The Obama family has been working hard to show their indifference to the plight of middle America. Whether it's the president's golfing fetish, private air transportation for family dog Bo to a Maine vacation, or Michelle Obama's taxpayer subsidized trip to the Spanish Riviera, the gulf between the White House leisure class and the American middle class has grown to unprecedented proportions. Everyone is entitled to some R & R, though Mrs. Obama's jaunt is her eighth holiday this summer. Tone-deaf White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs defended vacation numero ocho by saying,

My wife and I haven’t had a real vacation together since 1996.
In a just world Obamao would be eating prison food, and his foolish wife would be forced to live in his brother’s hut.
We don’t get vacations either.

I read somewhere that the Obamas have taken more trips and vacations and spent more public money on themselves in the 18 months they’ve been in office than any other presidential family in American history.

On this, I think I can actually sympathize with Barack... I mean, really, if YOU were married to that woman wouldn’t YOU want her out of the country as much as possible?
It probably gets his mother-in-law out of the White House too. Not an unreasonble thing, under the circumstances. :-)
Yeah but the as*holes voted for him to begin with...now they are upset? They contributed to this situation because.....dang it....Sarah Palin had $150,000 worth of clothes on the campaign trail.
When they went to Maine, the dog was flown on a separate plain with some staffers and Obama’s personal “assistant”, Mr. Love.

Her vacation costs $65,000 a day. That’s more than many Americans make in an entire year. It’s disgusting.
