Yep....more federal housing that will turn into crack houses and totally destroyed in two years. Probably owned by the Black Panthers.

These creeps HATE liberty.

The government now telling you where you will live, how you will live, where you can work, what type of car you can drive, how big of a living quarters you can have, etc, etc.

Sounds like the old Soviet Union doesn’t it? That worked out real well for them didn’t it? But at least the government had control over the people.

The federal neighborhood planning initiative is designed to coax localities into restricting where people can live, work, and shop into small areas connected by public transportation.

Now think about FinReg, Fannie and Freddie. How difficult and/or expensive do you think it will be to get a mortgage outside these gov't. planned communities?

Let’s see… pay rent to company owned apartment, buy supplies from company owned store, transportation provided by company owned car, electric bill paid to company owned utility, all with income provided by the ‘Government’ owned company.

Ooh I can’t wait! I can see it now. Benevolent federal apparachiks will be designing Soviet-style apartments and “commercial districts” for the peasants. Our cities can look just like Pyongyang!

Check out the Masdar Project on Youtube... Then you will get a glimpse of the “community” they want us in... NO private property, no cars, just public transit...

This is all paid for by money the government doesn’t have.

nobama wants to turn your neighborhood into Detroit. Lucky you.

Just look at this lovely, "environmentally sound, sustainable living community."

Damned glad I live on acreage out in the country. They'll leave us alone. There's nothing out here they would want.

Everyone packed into high-density population centers, and the only way in or out is public tranportation systems - probably light rail.

What is there in that scenario for a terrorist not to like?

Particularly, the administration has linked funds from the Federal Highway Trust Fund for the purpose of encouraging its favored style of land-use planning. The administration planned to transfer $307 million from the fund--normally used to aid states with highway construction--and earmark it for so-called livable communities grants.

What legal authority allows this?

Read this thread about the Highway Trust Fund being out of funds.

That’s what’s funding this boondoggle.

This is communism plain and simple. The democrats are now against the American dream of owning a home in the suburbs. Can we expect the GOP leadership to hold the conference together and stop this like they did the Disclose Act?
