Good thing they took the trouble to document this — the Dems never would, they don’t want us to know what’s really in Obamacare.

You know, I’m aghast at what this chart implies, especially given what other posters say is its scope (hardly a third of the total landscape), but I’ve got to hand it to the systems analysts who drew it up. Impressive chart-making (that it vividly shows howhopelessly complex the project is only helps our side, after all).

The whole idea of the chart is to shock and repulse you. It was put together by GOP opponents of the new law.

It's gonna be a mess, for sure.

Gosh, it's almost as if the whole thing were designed to be impossible to work as advertized, while hiding where and to whom the money is really going.

Rather a partisan response there, FRiend, if I may call you that. Are you suggesting it is in some way an untrue representation? If so, you should say why. Also, do you not accept that Democrats might be equally aghast at what their national political leaders have wrought? It will decimate their families right along with Republican ones, though perhaps Orwell's dictum might apply: Democrats might well be considered 'Friends of Napoleon', if you get my drift there. Would you be in that company, one wonders?

My point exactly. The chart in question is a rather partisan response to a rather partisan bill.

I never heard one word in the media covering the fact that the trillion dollar price tag on the health care bill didn’t even include the cost of administering the program. I can imagine an agency larger that the Social Security Administration! Thousands of new government employees for us to support FOR LIFE!

the British National Healthcare service is the world’s third largest employer. The Obamacare Plan will be the largest. It IS the Democrat “solution” to unemployment.....

Are you suggesting there is a non-partisan way to display the mechanisms graphically? If so, then do so. Otherwise, your comment smacks of a drive-by insult to Republicans, who in this case are at least showing a promise of having spunk. One would expect the Washington ComPost to smear the chart as Republican partisan propaganda. One doesn’t expect to see it here.

So where can I apply to decide if a 63 year old needs radiation? Or ... will they pay me 67K a year to sit in an office and have no idea why I am there but to bow to Obama and the SecOfHealth? Or send Obama’s white lab coat out to the cleaners while everybody waits in lines to die from simple strept throat because we are waiting for Obama to sign off on antibiotics?

There are any number of ways of describing laws and legislation. Sorry if it sounded too critical of the GOP, to point out that their chart was meant to cause alarm and revulsion to a bill they oppose, and rightly so. I was just pointing out their intent, not criticizing it. We should be disgusted by the mess that came out of the partisan process.

My 2 cents: This could have been avoided if some of the abuses of the health insurance industry were addressed when the GOP had control. Same for financial reform. Both parties are unfortunately, largely in the hands of politicians, not statesmen.

I see where you were headed with your comments. Thing is, the Dems this term have a majority far in excess of anything the Reps had and whatever majority they started with steadily eroded. All signs for them pointed to ‘BE CAREFUL’. The exact opposite has been true since Jan. 2009 for the Dems. To them, the signs as they first appeared were ‘FULL STEAM AHEAD!!’. So they launched. I don’t doubt that Reps are happy to make partisan stew of the dog’s breakfast the Dems have cooked up, but I heartily endorse every clear statement that points out how badly we’ve been had, so that those who pay little attention (or have attention spans too short to permit actually being educated or informed) can be shocked, as they should be, and now, before the election, where the dhimmies in the center will make all the difference.
