Whatever makes you think Reid's proposal occupies the "moral high ground"? Or is even "moral" at all?
A pernicious law designed to cripple an industry and raise fuel costs for each and every American is hardly "moral high ground".
There is no evidence whatsoever that there is any safety risk involved in this process. It has been used in the Southwest for fifty years. And is currently being employed in my home county -- without any adverse effect whatsoever.
What would be "moral" about a similar law which raised the specter of a moratorium on plastic pipe for home plumbing use? It's use is of a similar age...and equally benign.
Would you not agree that Harry Reid, the Democrats and "moral high ground" are strangers to each other.
