Quick, name the most liberal state in the union. Odds are strong that most people would instantly name Caifornia, Massachusetts or New York as the answer.

A new Rasmussen Reports survey of public opinion in New York finds a solid majority of respondents favor repeal of Obamacare, with 56 percent overall favoring and 41 percent saying they strongly favor repeal.

Only 42 percent oppose repeal, with only 31 percent, or slightly less than one-third, strongly opposing repeal, according to Rasmussen.

These figures place New York firmly in the national mainstream of opinion on the issue of repealing Obamacare:

56% shows a clear sweep that NYC dwellers’ large numbers cannot obliterate.

I think that when the poll for repeal is brought up, it needs to be stressed that "repeal" means undoing the entire travesty; as if it never happened. But for many, they think it means the parts that they don't agree with.

There is about as much chance of Commiecare being repealed as there is for Republicans taking all senate seats this November. Ø won't sign any kind of legislative repeal, and Republicans aren't likely to enjoy any kind of veto-proof majority for at lease 2½ more years, if ever. The only stellar alignment that will allow for repeal is a solid, courageous conservative in the White House, and a solid conservative majority in both houses - something that may not happen for a decade. By that time, Commiecare will be ensconced as the new birth-right entitlement by a vast block of Americans.

I'm not piddling on the prospect of repeal; it would revive this country and this citizen's soul. Just being a realist here.

I think what most people forget is that New York State is a very large state, and most of it comprises rural or small town conservatism. New York City and the suburbs surrounding it are like a separate world where you find more liberal voters. However, I think that even Long Islanders are getting more cautious about the policies of Obama, and are in opposition to much of them.

In the midst of all the Obama-induced gloom, one thing that heartens me is the huge number of persons who want full-scale repeal of a particular piece of legislation.

DC types are puzzled; they are used to scrutiny of the people working in the sausage factory but they are not used to the commoners demanding a total disposal of one of their sausages.

I agree that repeal isn’t likely, since the zero will veto it and the votes to override aren’t there.

But, if we get the house, we can have it defunded, which accomplishes the same thing.

And, if Palin gets in in ‘12, THEN we can repeal this piece of crap.

I need to get up earlier. I was going to make, essentially, the same point. Upstate New York tends to be far more conservative than in the City and its environs.

Yes, by any means possible.

Like that!!

LOL!!

Use Shift+<+i+shift+> to start the italics and Shift+<+/+i+shift+> to end them. Once you begin posting in HTML, however, you will have to add HTML code all the way through for your paragraph breaks as well.

Use Shift+<+p+shift+> to start a new paragraph and Shift+<+/+p+shift+> to end or, if you get lazy, you can use Shift+<+B+R+shift+> to make a line break.

So pretty much everyone in NYC, Buffalo, Rochester want free Obama stuff while the rest of the state is tired of paying for free stuff for the urban dwellers.
