I believe that Peres has a personal history with the British that explains his bigotry toward them today. I understand why he feels the way he does. However, my concern is that others are defending his statement. The Brits are like everyone else, they have their share of bigots... just as Israel and every other country has.

Britain is worse among the educated and political classes. I have read accounts of nice dinner parties where leftist types and conservatives both vent their anti-Semitism and anti- Israelism. It is a happy pastime for them as these uber idiots allow and encourage Muslims to flood into the UK. My general impression of the UK is they much prefer Muslims over Jews. They have a loopy Arabism going on there same as Prince Charles does. They have a philo-Muslim thing going on

The average Brit....maybe some are more concerned about Muslims and other foreigners flooding into the UK than he is about Israel and Jews

I’ve been to the UK many times. I’ve never heard anything anti-semetic. I have heard lots of anti-Muslim comments in the streets of London. Maybe you are correct, that its a class thing. I don’t know the elite. But the average brit doesn’t really even think about Jews. The muslims do scare the heck out of them.
