Why on Earth would anyone want MORE psychiatrists?
To convince people to take the Red Pill......
There is a shortage of psychiatrists right now -- in part because of the last time the gov't got into the act and restricted the supply of new doctors about 20 years ago. As the US population continues to age, dementia will become even more of a problem than it is today, and the need for psychiatrists will continue to increase.

...we don’t need them at all...they like the fast money and easy work...they see a patient every 15 minutes and write a script for mind altering drugs...then they farm the patient out to a counselor on their staff for a one hour session...it’s a hi-volume deal for them with less chance of getting sued...lower malpractice premiums means lower overhead.
Psychiatry basically is the world’s (and the “prince of this world”’s) method of suppressing and denying the biblical truth about the human condition.
That guilt you feel? No, it isn’t sinfulness, there’s no such thing! It’s because of X, Y, and Z - someone else’s fault, basically, and none of your own.
"I never met a psychiatrist who didn't need one."--George Putnam
I'm not so sure they choose psychiatry as much as it is chosen for them.
As I understand it, the type of medical practice a medical school graduate goes into depends on a number of factors including faculty recommendations and medical school performance and grades. I have a couple of MD friends who tell me that psychiatry is the medical practice that is left over after all the other specialties have been gobbled up by the more talented and higher-performing medical students.
MORE psychiatrists?
I know it sounds CRAZY, doesn’t it!

To give out prescriptions, for drugs, to fix peoples’ mental problems.
