A Pentagon advisory board is expected to recommend that Defense Secretary Robert Gates eliminate the Joint Forces Command as part of a drive to cut Pentagon bloat.
The Defense Business Board (DBB), the Pentagon’s independent board of economic and business advisers, has been tasked by Gates to recommend options for reducing the Pentagon’s overhead, or indirect operating expenses. The board is also expected to offer recommendations on making the Pentagon’s business operations more efficient.

Well. I recommend we get rid of the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Reimbursement within HHS. In fact, we could cut the Health and Human Services in half. Same for the FDA. How about the Interior Dept., Transportation, Commerce, Energy and the EPA while we’re at it.
Look, I’m not saying there isn’t room for reduction with the Defense dept. But why do these other agencies continue to grow unabated? If they all cut 30%, heck, even 10%, we’d greatly reduce the government debt. How about it? What’s good for the goose....
There probably are a few commands that are redundent and could be consolidated with others. Isn’t Odierno headed for JFC?

Meanwhile, Obamao is tripling the size of the welfare state and government agencies.
Cut the Civil Rights Department in every agency...starting with Agriculture first!
But then how are the senior officers going to get their “Joint” ticket punched?
What they should do, is eliminate that joint requirement in promotion boards, IMO.
