In my divorce, I refused to pay alimony. Not even the 1$ a year noose they like to use. I swore that I dwould fight until every last cent was gone and told the lawyers (mine and hers) they wouldn’t ever get paid if they pushed the issue any further, and the issue was dropped and Inever heard another peep about it during the remaining proceedings.
I find it hard to believe a judge could make such a ruling without consent of the payer, and if they do make such rulings, i find it hard they survive the ride home. This shit is insane!

Some guys get it in the shorts bad from the so called family court....I am not speaking to child support, just alimony.....
Like I've posted scores of times here on FR, I would never get married while living in the USA - why? The potential minuses far out weight the potential pluses (unfortunately).
She get half time with the kids. $300 a month or so in child support. And for two years, she gets about the same in spousal maintenance. Her lawyer told her she was VERY lucky to get the spousal maintenance as she doesn't see that very often any more.
I suppose a lot depends on the state.

Terrible ordeal, to say the least.
One guy told me of his pain, and also said:
"If you find out your divorce judge is a woman, you are dead meat. If you find out your divorce judge is a woman, and she herself has been divorced, you are worse than dead - you are in hell."
So a judge took care of one of his own. What a surprise.
The whole thing is completely insane.

The context of the recounting sort of leads one to believe that it is ‘odd’ anyway. While it certainly isn’t common, it isn’t odd with respect to being what happens in a divorce - it’s just principally what happens to the majority of divorced men and hardly ever with women, that’s all.
When my son got his divorce, he would give the X the child support payments directly to her at times...the court called it gifts and he got nailed with back child support even if she signed a receipt....never give the X any cash, go throught the court and if the court is backlogged in getting out the money to the X tough luck for her.......just a warning to you guys out there...
I thought a husband paid alimony only if the the wife wasn’t working.
Not always so, pnh. My husband divorced me in a community property state when I had a job paying $13,000/yr. He maxed out the credit cards and then took out a new one without my knowledge. He tried to get our daughter, dogs and me kicked out. I had to borrow $15,000 to pay him “his share” of the house we occupied for less than two years. He was not required to pay child support since I made more money than he.
Thank the Lord, he remarried and started parasitizing some other woman. Admittedly, that was in the ‘80’s.
Seven years later, I received a letter from a bank stating that he had paid his share of a credit card bill, and now it was my turn to pay my half. (That was the credit card I didn’t know about.) The loan officer at the bank did a writeoff because that was what her husband did to her.
P.S. Now married to a great guy with a functioning cerebral cortex and a huge sense of honor and independence. Semper fi!
And people wonder why men aren’t crazy about getting married. Where’s the incentive when you realize you have made a mistake and have to pay for it in this manner?

I laughed myself silly when some guy took a chain saw to his house so the X wouldn’t get it went to jail with a smile on his face,,,, most divorce’s are started by the woman, the one that wants the divorce should get nothing....male or female...with an acception for physical violence against the partner or drug abuse..In that case with evidence to back up physical abuse, ie: hospital records the abuser should lose everything...
My advise to any guy wanting to marry:
Learn to play chess.
Play often.
Learn strategy.
I got both Sons, the house, and paid no alimony.
I don’t get child support, though. I don’t need her money.
It is very sad that the feminazi libs have done so well at the task of destroying the traditional marriage.
