Month’s late Social Security/Medicare Trustees report means Obama is hiding very bad insolvency news
The Collins Report ^ | July 16,2010 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

Posted on 07/16/2010 7:51:46 AM PDT by jmaroneps37

The liars in Washington are scrambling to figure out how to spin perhaps the worst news yet for millions of Americans: These socialist thugs have actually finally killed Social Security and Medicare.

Each year sometime in March or April the Social Security and Medicare Trustees are supposed to release a report on the fiscal health of Social Security and Medicare.

The reports are now five months late and not “currently scheduled” to be released until August when they will be six months late, if they are leased even then.

Based on the criminal MO of the gangsters running our government, this delay can only mean there is plenty of bad news being hidden from us.

Why would we conclude otherwise? The Managing Trustee of the Social Security/Medicare systems is Secretary of the Treasury, Timothy F. Geithner, an admitted tax cheat and an employer of non social security paying household staff.

The other members of this cabal are Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis whose husband is a tax cheat, Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, who is a tax cheat, and Michael J. Astrue, Commissioner of Social Security a George Bush appointee.

The reports which come from the Office of the Actuary of the Social Security Administration, are supposed to be used to plan the funding needs of Social Security and Medicare for the next seventy five years.

You kind of get the feeling these crooks know Obamanomics have ruined these already shaky programs and there is no way they will last seventy five weeks, let alone seventy five years.

CBO report says it all

In its Long Term Budget Outlook, released earlier this month, the Congressional Budget Office reported that Social Security funds allocated to cover this calendar’s year’s payments are now exhausted. Although this startling….

This is a very bad situation that will get worse and as good a reason as any to throw the Marxist Democrats out on their ears.

Who wants to bet the numbers are not released until after the mid terms?

"The closer to election they release bad news the worse it will be for them."

Which is why they won't release them before then. Just like they didn't draft a budget. Just like they keep revising their economic numbers down a month after they release them and trumpet them as proof we are in recovery. The downward revisions are never mentioned by the liberal media.

The closer to election they release bad news the worse it will be for them.,

Then Obama will wait to release the information on the Saturday night after the FIRST nuclear explosion in New York City.

That brings up a question, once the GROUND ZERO mosque is built, will the PEACEFUL Muslims bomb New York?

You’re totally right.

I have a friend that I call when I need an “on the street” opinion of the state of affairs. She’s a real People Magazine reader type of gal and a teacher. Total Obama voter.

She thinks that we are definitely in a recovery and “suspects” that it would have been worse if not for the Stimulus.

Dems won’t release the report until after the election unless they are forced to do so... and even then the numbers could be fake.

"Who wants to bet the numbers are not released until after the mid terms?"

The GOP would be cosmically stupid to let them get away with that. As RC2 pointed out, bad news here should guarantee the Senior vote defecting massively.

I believe “cosmically stupid” is a GOP party plank.

This should be a major news story. The 2009 Trustees Report below was bad enough. It will be interesting to see how Obamacare is spun. It is all interesting to note that I believe that there are still two vacant public member positions on the board.

A SUMMARY OF THE 2009 ANNUAL REPORTS Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees--Who Are the Trustees? There are six Trustees, four of whom serve by virtue of their positions in the Federal Government: the Secretary of the Treasury, the Secretary of Labor, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and the Commissioner of Social Security. The other two Trustees are public representatives appointed by the President, subject to confirmation by the Senate. The two Public Trustee positions are currently vacant.

Sorry to say this, and you’re probably already aware, but your friend is an imbecile and it’s people like her who have put you, me, our families, and our country at dire risk.

They will either hold it up until after the election or not release it altogether.

Disagree. They will release them before the midterms. Right now they are trying to spin the results including the impact of Obamacare. The spin will be that Obamacare will cut the deficit and extend the life of Medicare. They will release it sometime in September/October to use as ammo in the midterms for the Dems. And the less time between the release and the midterms the better since it will give the Reps less time to refute them.

See my post #12 and check out the 2009 report. According to it, 45% of all Medicare expenditures will come from the General Fund by 2014. We are already cashing in the IOUs in the HI Trust Fund, i.e., Medicare Part A (since 2008). By law 75% of Medicare Parts B and D must come from the General fund.

Obamacare will add 16 million to the Medicaid rolls and it closes the donut hole in the Prescription Drug program (Medicare Part D), which can only 8 to the $8 trillion unfunded liability for this program. You can bet that the Obama administration is in hyperdrive trying to spin the numbers and provide data for their next policy proposals. I am disturbed by the possibile lack of public members on the Board.

***These socialist thugs have actually finally killed Social Security and Medicare. ****

There is nothing wrong with Social Security! This promise, from a 1964 SS pamphlet, shows you CAN trust the SS!

You DO trust the government, don’t you!

http://www.ssa.gov/history/ssa/usa1964-2.html

Self-Supporting

“The program is designed so that contributions plus interest on the investments of the social security trust funds will be sufficient to meet all of the costs of benefits and administration, now and into the indefinite future—without any subsidy from the general funds of the Government. Both the Congress and the Executive Branch, regardless of political party in power, have scrupulously provided in advance for full financing of all liberalizations in the program.”

SS is a pay as you go system. Right now, expenditures exceed revenue, which will require the IOUs in the SS Trust Fund to be redeemed by the USG to cover the shortfall. There are about $2.6 trillion in the SS Trust Fund in the form of non-market T-bills.

Rash of retirements pushes Social Security to brink--The impact of the recession is likely to hit the giant retirement system even harder this year and next. The Congressional Budget Office had projected it would operate in the red in 2010 and 2011, but a deeper economic slump could make those losses larger than anticipated.
