The GOP can get these RINOs in check if they wanted.
And how is the GOP going to stop him from voting as his constituents want him to vote?
I was thinking this morning that of the 38 Republicans who vote against the Financial Reform Bill, how many of the 38 actually wanted the bill to PASS. I think Brown and the Maine twins may just be cover for a larger block of RINOs that know they would be toast if they voted with the Democrats. I’m sure there are many more weak-kneed RINOs who think that this bill will actually line their pockets, or somehow keep the economy from ever having a bad day.
The 41 R Senators may have been united against Obamacare, but that was partly due to the fact that they were shut out of the negotiations. I truly don’t see the big govt. dragon ever being slayed without a.) DC being nuked b.) Voters regularly scrutinizing politicians and the votes the politicians cast, while keeping a daily log of what each Congress member has done. There are only 535 to keep track of. I vote for option B.
Any politicians who votes for a “comprehensive” bill that is over 1000-2000+ pages should be severely scrutinized. We should realize that a bills this large, by their very nature, are not merely laws, but chains with each link intended to shape the nation in the image of the legislative gods of social policy. The outcome is tightened control of ones enemies and bounty for ones friends.
