Chamber of Commerce Blasts Obama on Jobs, Taxes, Regulations

One of the most influential U.S. business groups accused President Barack Obama on Wednesday of neglecting job creation and sowing economic uncertainty with burdensome tax and regulatory policies.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce urged Obama and his Democratic allies in Congress to shift their approach to "unlock frozen capital and jolt our economy back to life."

The group released the letter before a "Jobs for America" summit it is hosting and on the same day Obama's Council of Economic advisers is releasing a report that shows the president's policies are creating jobs and stimulating the economy.

The letter adds to growing criticism the Obama administration has faced lately from the business sector.

Four months before November congressional elections in which Obama's Democrats are struggling to preserve their dominance, Republicans have pounced on the criticisms to try to paint Obama as anti-business.

The chamber gave Obama credit for stabilizing the economy and heading off another Great Depression.

"But once accomplished, the congressional leadership and the administration took their eyes off the ball," the letter said. "They neglected America's number one priority — creating the more than 20 million jobs we need over the next 10 years for those who lost their jobs, have left the job market, or were cut to part-time status — as well as new entrants into our workforce."

The Chamber of Commerce has zero credibility on jobs when it is the loudest and strongest advocate of illegal alien labor and open borders for importing wage depressing cheap labor.

How does one know how to take the COC! They eventually caved in on Obamacare so some credibility has been lost for sure.

And he seems quite focused on KILLING jobs in the oil industry by shuttig down the gulf coast oil production for, oh, say 6 months or so (long enough for most rigs to pack it in)

Everything I learned about macro economics, business, international trade, monetary and fiscal policy, as well as regulations and the administrative frame work as it pertains to creating jobs and stimulating an economy seems on it’s head lately. Nothing makes sense anymore. Except for the massive government spending and positive speeches and political rallying, this administration is doing everything upside down.

I was concerned after the Baraqqi win in November 08 that the “normal” economic cycle might help them out by the November 2010 elections, even though everything they did was economic trouble.

No worry about that now. All Republicans have to do is take that 10% unemployment and hammer liberals without stopping.

And not let the MSM convince the populace that this is the “new normal”

Socialists have to convince people that the poverty, the low growth, lack of innovation, poor customer service, lack of choice and personal freedom are a good thing.

Yes, the MSM is Obama’s cheerleader, and after two years with little to show for except a defiant Iran, mess with banking and mortgages, a nationalized auto industry, disliked health care program, high unemployment, low growth, looming inflation and talk of more taxes, starined relations with Israel, and casual downplays of the N. Korean threat .......... they are out there with their pom poms blaming Bush, and sugar coating one of the worst economic situations since the Great Depression. Two years and it's still Bush's fault! But now suddenly Iraq is because of Obama! yes, this administration did not even hesitate for a second when it came to taking credit for Iraq.

If you are liberal & historical (whatever that may mean), you can do no wrong.
