Regardless of what he believed/pushed in 2001, 2002, or 2003, it was not foreordained that his administration would buckle, as had each before it

2005 was the death knell. At the time, was registered in 90017, having moved there the previous summer. Saw a man accompany into the booth and rapidly coach a timid woman on filling out her ballot: “no; no; no; no” etc. It was like Tammany Hall. Whether the ballot initiatives mattered

I don't fault you if you voted for him, or not. I only pointed out that his leftward governing began long before 2005. You are repeating the "post mortem" myth created by ARnie and his PR campaign to give him an excuse to openly run far left. He had been doing it for a couple years, already.

I voted No on all those propositions except Parental notification. You had to read the fine print to see that the "spending" measure had little to do with cutting spending, etc. Had those initiatives passed, we would be worse off, today.

And yes -- I would say it was inevitable that the liberal Arnie would govern as a liberal(R).
