NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Four more New Orleans police officers have been charged in the deadly shootings of two people in Hurricane Katrina's chaotic aftermath and could face the most serious punishment yet - the death penalty - for the killings that have brought down a string of other officers.

Six current or former officers are charged in a 27-count indictment unsealed Tuesday. Five former New Orleans police officers already have pleaded guilty to helping cover up the shootings on the Danziger Bridge....

"Put simply, we will not tolerate wrongdoing by those who are sworn to protect the public," Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday in New Orleans.

Unfortunately by letting those who are sworn to protect the public get away with this crap time and time and time again you are not only tolerating it, you are encouraging it.

Just another half dozen random, isolated incidents of the 99% giving the 1% a bad name.

If guilty, they all should hang. Those involved in the cover up as well. A public hanging with the words “Dirty Cop” above their corpse.

You really have to wonder what kind of city New Orleans was...before the hurricane.

It’s hard to believe that even corrupt New Orleans cops would wantonly murder innocent civilians.

There have been investigations of this since the incident occurred. Have new facts come to light?

There’s very little describing the circumstances surrounding the crime, most are accounts by participants.

One thing is noteworthy: it puts Katrina back on the front page, and if Holder plays it right, it’ll stay there through November.

Was and is a great city full of hard working people who regularly face difficult times from mother nature. The people of New Orleans will go out of their way to make you feel welcome or to help you out. Unfortunately, the city was infested by welfare whores, pimps and drug dealers. Due to the geography, New Orleans is an island, the housing projects were concentrated in a relatively small area.

That is why there was a silver lining in Katrina, the projects surrounding the French Quarter were going to be torn down. Unfortunately, our government overseers saw that those projects were reopened, and due to PC, that occurred.

When the SHTF, a New Orleans man is someone you want on your side. He will face the crap head on and usually do it with humor. If you are in a “Lord of the Flies” situation, you better know that the people around you are not only trustworthy but are capable as well.

Do not be fooled, the ninth ward and the projects are not New Orleans, many of my friends lost their homes in the storm. Some were in neighborhoods where houses were valued at over $10MM, you never saw that though. They were there the day after the storm cutting down trees, clearing debris and trying to get life back to normal. They did not wait for the government, did not even consider it.

That being said, these cops should fry if they committed murder. I was not there though and do not know what occurred. I would hope justice would prevail but I am losing confidence rapidly.

Bush’s fault.

Oh, wait...

Fellas, if it’s bad enough that even this administration can’t back off of you, you’re hosed. Just plead out and take your life sentences like men.

There is no dam.

Bulldoze one of the largest ports in the United States. Yea, that would be a great move due to a criminal court case that has not been tried yet.
