That's true. With $4/gallon gas (or more), the fantastical projections of 70 seats in the House and 13 in the Senate, become much less fantastical.
I'm not quite sure what the Dem angle is here, or if they've even thought this through. Yes, there is depressed demand for oil because of the global recession, but once you take this (the Gulf production) out of the supply chain for an extended period of time, it's going to have an inflationary effect on prices - right about the time for the mid-terms.
ON the 4th of July weekend, I paid $2.89 per gallon for Shell Premium. Back in Los Angelus, I have to pay $3.31.
