Nobody wants to eat carp or that same industry would have sprung up all up and down the mississippi. People come here to fish for game fish, not carp.
We once had the worlds largest freshwater commercial fishing industry but the sea lamprey eliminated that with the help of various greentards and assorted leftist nutjobs.
Only if you rely of the commercial viability to support fishing for the carp. They have little commercial value that is the purpose of the bounty. Take some "stimulus" dollars (over 40% still hasn't been spent) and place a bounty of say $1 a pound on the carp. Fishermen could then take the carp to centers where they would be paid hundreds of dollars for their catch. We get rid of the carp and the fishermen get a job.
Why do you think we have the European Carp infesting most of our waterways?
European immigrants considered them good eating and brought them here.
Asians consider their variety as great food too. In Thailand they raise them in ponds and when they're grown enough they drain the ponds to catch the fish. I don't like them, they're too soft and mushy, (even if rolled in mot dang.)
