An Open Borders policy with regard to illegal immigration is a little like engaging in unprotected sex. You can get away with it once, twice, perhaps a dozen or more times. But eventually, inevitably, your luck runs out. In the recent case of a 2 year-old girl who was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant in McAllen, Texas, the more appropriate metaphor would be Russian Roulette. And to make matters worse, the APs press release omitted the most salient detail of the accused child murderers identity:
McALLEN, Texas A Texas man accused of fatally beating his 2-year-old stepdaughter when she wouldnt stop crying as he watched a World Cup game has been charged with capital murder.
McAllen Police Sgt. Joel Morales says 27-year-old Hector Castro was charged Monday after his Saturday arrest. Castro is being held on $1 million bond at the Hidalgo County jail, where a booking clerk says he does not yet have an attorney.
Police Chief Victor Rodriguez says Castro told investigators the toddler wouldnt stop crying while he was trying to watch the U.S.-Ghana matchup Saturday.
Rodriguez says the child was severely beaten and suffered several broken ribs. Police say a screw or bolt was forced down her throat in an apparent attempt to make it look like she choked to death.
That is the entire AP article. Note that there is no mention of the child murderers immigrant status.

The omission is deliberate, and promotes an agenda.
That would be censorship, then.
Censorship by omission is the worst kind of censorship.
Selective, agenda driven reporting. We should all be used to it by now.
A “Texas” man...
The little girl herself might have been an anchor baby. If she’d been killed in Mexico, her stepfather wouldn’t have to face the death penalty - but his end would likely come sooner all the same.
Liberalism at its heart wants the destruction of any society to be replaced with Total Government and a Dictator.
F the News.
While I wholeheartedly agree that the man’s immigration status should have been mentioned, and that is was ommitted for political reason which is abhorrent in itesef, I don’t agree that this was “the most salient fact” in the story.
The most salient fact is that a 2 year old innocent human being was murdered.
Children are murdered all the time, in every country, and I don’t think that being an illegal alien was a motivation in the murder.
Your post is illogical.
He did not kill because he was illegal.
And if he killed in another country, there would still be a human being dead ... which is the most salient point.
And no one said it was ok to kill and maim people. No one.
Ping!
Your the one putting words in people’s mouth, not me.
The fact that he is illegal is not the “most salient point” of the story.
The fact that a little child is murdered is the most salient point of the story.
It would be the most salient point whether he were illegal or not. It would be the most salient point if the event had happened in another country.
The fact that our leaders are allowing criminals and undesirables into the country at will is the salient fact. Illegals commit many crimes, crimes that would not be committed if they were not here. That is the point and you seem to keep missing it.
The cause of the murder, the illegal alien, is the salient fact and we need to realize that many crimes are committed every day by illegals, more people are killed in drunk driving accidents and deliberate murders by illegals than die in Afghanistan and Iraq yearly. Deaths and other crimes that need not have occurred if our laws had been enforced. THAT is what makes it the most salient fact.
Hector Castro is NOT a “Texas man”. Hector Castro is an ILLEGAL F’N MEXICAN ALIEN !
calex59,
Why do you think that if this man had been watching the World Cup in Mexico and his daughter had disturbed him by incessant crying, he would not have killed her, when he killed her for disturbing him by incessant crying while he was watching the World Cup in Texas?
You said the crime would not have been committed, not that the crime would not have been committed here.
You are NOW saying that crimes committed in Mexico are no concern of yours. That is different from what you said before.
The “simple fact” that you say I am too stupid to comprehend is in fact easily comprehensible, and I did comprehend it, but it doesn’t bear on the point I was making.
Your intemperate profanity and illogic in response to simple, carefully stated, correct, and polite discourse reveals you to be one of the most contemptible and pathetic excuses for a human being I have ever encountered on this forum.
