Please don’t be another Ike, the inland hurricane that hit Ohio. I’ll never forget it as long as I live...
"I'll take things that blow for $200, Trebeck."
About 255 miles SE of Brownsville TX, noving W at 9 mph.
Max sustained winds 75 mph, 973 mb.
Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 15 miles from the
center...and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to
175 miles.
And Ike made landfall as only a Cat. 2 storm.
Bump! Thanks NN!
We were without power for a week but fortunately for us the weather was nice and we had a generator.
Speaking of which, might be a good time to get gas and exercise the generator...
Just started raining here. Don’t know if it’s outer bands or if it’s just fingers.
TANKS,NN ,,,
I sure hope it moves fast,,,
The last I heard there are 12’ waves in the Gulf,,,(Fox)...
Just ran mine this last week with a 3KW load. Keep 3 gallons in it with Stabil mixture and change the gasoline in it out completely once a year and the oil every other year. Never had a bit of trouble with it in 6 years.
Thanks for the thread NNurse. I’ve got family 50 miles inland down in the toe of Texas on the border.
Just guessing - from views seen at this link.
Maybe this is God's oil-spill cleanup campaign... who knows.
Advisory notes no change in watches and warnings, but it sure look like the cone has shifted well south of the border.
I think that’s a spin off storm,,,
The center of rotation is far south of that,,,
I’m in NW Louisiana and we’re getting T-Storms up here,,,
This storm won’t clean-up anything,,,
It’s driving the oil into the marsh...
Those are outer bands and they’ll keep spinning off until the storm goes inland.
Have always said this is the way God cleans house, the bays, the beaches, etc.
Bloody media types have been praying for a hurricane, and for a few hours they had what they wanted... but, notice how they’ve been absolutely mum about the breakup of this storm for the past four hours?
You think it was bad in Ohio - you should have seen it in Houston!
Not so good...
Agree with the shift with the current due west storm track. However, a general west-northwestward motion is expected over the next 24 to 48 hours.
