From the link:

Under positive law, you can be put in jail for not doing what you are ordered to do; that is, you conceivably could be deemed a criminal while sitting at home minding your own business.

The Next Great Depression (written Feb 8, 2008)

The defenders of FDR (who, though they will deny it, are also defenders of Hoover, because economic illiteracy is bipartisan and both presidents embarked on parallel paths of massive government interventions) claim that the Great Depression was caused by market failures. What nonsense! This is like blaming someone for dying if you shoot him. The tragedy of the 1930s is that markets weren’t allowed to work. First Hoover, then FDR, caused massive economic dislocations through repeated federal interventions. The Great Depression was a case of government failure (a distant cousin of the decades-long depression in the centrally planned Soviet economy), not market failure.

Gotta be careful about “deeming” someone as a criminal.

Might just make some otherwise peaceful and law-abiding type turn completely unpleasant. Just the sort of a situation where you find that you’ve created your own worst nightmare.....
