There a lot of angry people in the Gulf Coast. Loss of income, degraded quality of life and the dangers of long term exposure to dispersants and crude oil are setting the stage for a possible blow back from Gulf residents.
Rumors of military/national guard build up in the region, unknown security personnel bullying residents and loss of personal security have generated a nasty cauldron of rage in the Gulf. When people's backs are against the wall, civility evaporates like a puddle in a desert heat wave.
"Do not underestimate the emotionalism and the frustration and the anger of people in the Gulf uncertain of their financial future," Kenneth Feinberg told interviewers. "It's very pronounced. I witnessed it firsthand last week." (Source: AP)
Feinberg told reporters that the pressure cooker in the Gulf is simmering. People are growing increasingly frustrated with the situation and the government is hoping to bleed off some of the pressure by getting relief payments into the hands of affected people as rapidly as possible.
The $20 billion dollar fund which was created by an agreement between the Obama Administration and BP may be a drop in the bucket when all is said and done. If we survive this catastrophe, given the situation with the massive gas bubble beneath the blow out, the damages to the health of the Gulf residents, and to the ocean and economy may well exceed BPs corporate assets.
According to newswires "Shrimpers, oystermen, seafood businesses, out-of-work drilling crews and the tourism industry all are lining up to get paid back the billions of dollars washed away by the disaster. (AP)
The strippers are even getting into the act. They're filing loss of income claims against BP as well. (News wires) All told, a lot of people are losing money because they can't work. The fishing grounds are shut down. Fishing boats are dry docked and the economy is bleeding money faster than a vampire can locate a fat vein.
There are billions of dollars at stake--shrimpers, boat operators, fishermen, oil roughnecks, truckers, cabbies, wait personnel. The list goes on and on. People are losing money because business has dried up. Workers like the strippers are losing money because there are no customers. Between the people who can't catch fish, and the people who are losing money because the economy has dried up, there are a lot of people standing in line for the BP checks.
And it is all having a toll on BP's public image, not to mention its value. The worth of the company has taken a nose dive. Financial analysts say the company's stock has lost more than half its value in the two month old blow out crisis.
According to the New York Post, the spill, in combination with the President's global warming initiative, will most likely fuel an increase in gasoline prices, possibly to an economy crippling $7 per gallon.
President Obama has a solution to the Gulf oil spill: $7-a-gallon gas. That's a Harvard University study's estimate of the per-gallon price of the president's global-warming agenda. And Obama made clear this week that this agenda is a part of his plan for addressing the Gulf mess. Read more:

All told, there are a series of catastrophes that are creating a perfect storm: oil spill, job loss, psychological reaction/PTSD, spill-related-sickness. Is is any wonder that the rumors of martial law, may have more than a spark of truth?
is it the bible totting gun clinging kind? Obamie will just ignore them.
If Obama had taken the initiative from the start and got the skimmers, booms and what else going full bore to capture as much oil as possible the crisis would have been less. However to this day he has been a hindrance and to the frustration of the state and local officials.
Well, FL is advertising nationally giving reasons why folks should still visit despite the oil spill. Not a good sign.
Yup. $7.00 gas & diesel fuel will put more trucking companies out of business just as high fuel prices did a few years ago.
Gulf States: I’m sorry, but you didn’t vote for Obama and don’t support his cause.
You’re going to have to pay your taxes and stomach it.
Obama really did leap into action, problem was he mobilized the wrong army. Rather than sending engineers or oilmen, he flooded the gulf with lawyers and activists.
Yup. Those union members must have their exorbitant pensions, regardless!
To be paid for by $165 billion of taxpayers money.
unknown security personnel ?
I wonder who they are?
Obama is trying to turn this into a "Three Mile Island" for oil.
The problem is, neither Obama nor Soros *are* Americans, so the psy-ops they are running to try to topple the US aren't working: they're just pissing people off.
Short of a Reichstag Fire, or Martial Law, the Democrats will lose for a generation over this: since the MSM is no longer universally trusted as in the 70's.
And "OBAMA" will become a cliche for failure for the next generation, just as Carter was earlier.
HINT: I need to write a vanity on this, entitled, "Sawing Off The Branch"...
Cheers!
Sad, but true.
Had Ohio been on the Gulf Coast, the little bitch would be down there daily, doing photo-ops of him being on boats collecting oil, and handing out checks to people. Since these are solid 'red states', he doesn't 'need' them.
Florida is an important state, but all of the the threat has been in the panhandle. The conservative part of the state. Now, if the central coast of Florida, going South begins getting lots of oil on shore, expect him to start renting a house and living down there. Come next election, I just don't see him carrying any states that Bush carried in 2004. He's been exposed, and the absolute best he could possibly do would be to win the 'Kerry States', and I believe they are starting to realize this.
Would this be the SMALL PEOPLE they are worrying about?
Here in the Tampa area they showed on the local news a small seaside seafood restaurant that had to close because it couldn’t get fresh shellfish, because of the spill.
I got angry just seeing the video. Imagine how angry everyone involved in the business or who used to eat there is.
Why aren’t there more celebtards doing things to raise funds for folks down there? Or did I answer my own question...

And then went and played a round of golf to clear his head of all those whiny gulf folks and BP.
