‘the White House was already bristling at the perception that the war in Afghanistan was becoming unwinnable.’
That’s the ‘big lie’.
We should be INTELLIGENTLY but DETERMINEDLY going after Osama (and Obama?) and his band who are no longer in Afghanistan. This should be our goal, thereby, along with securing our borders from illegals, sending a message to all the Islamofascists, "Don't mess with the U.S."
We should not be in the business of trying to Americanize the Arab world. That is ludicrous. But the Islamo-killers run and hide in their caves when confronted with deadly determined force and INTELLIGENT strategy keeps them there.
Anybody got an e-mail address for the editor of Rolling Stone or for author Michael Hastings? We’ve got to get these guys to investigate the Obamatron-— even if (because of their readership) they have to attack him from the left.
So, the "something" that this warrior chooses is to speak to a reporter from Rolling Stone, then wait for the fallout. No, I doubt it.

I agree with you...it was his “have a few drinks run their mouths” staff that caused this.

The other good reason to get rid of McChrystal are his ROEs which are killing soldiers ... like patrolling were no enemy likely to be found, going on patrol with unloaded weapons, not destroying know enemy spotter/command posts in abandon buildings for fear of offending the locals...
Agreed.
