Celebrating LGBT pride month at the White House this evening, President Obama declared that the nation has never been closer to ending the “discriminatory policy” of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and promised to keep working until the bill is signed into law.

“We have never been closer to ending this discriminatory policy. And I’m going to keep on fighting until that bill is on my desk and I can sign it,” Obama said in the East Room this evening. “That is a promise I made as a candidate. It is a promise that I reiterated as president. It’s one that this administration is going to keep.”

In remarks coming at a time when many in the LGBT community have been frustrated by the slow pace of reform, the president said the “only way to lock this in” is by getting the needed votes in Congress is to work with the Pentagon.

He likes to give executive orders anyway, so what’s he waiting for?

Must be political cover...

Repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” lacks merit in at least three areas. First, homosexuality must estrange itself from medicine and science to fabricate a social justice issue. Next, arguments maintaining that open homosexuality will not hurt morale do not recognize the basic character of military operations. Finally, repeal means institutionalizing threats to the Constitutional religious liberty of chaplains and service members.

Advocates for repeal find foundational medical and scientific credibility in the 1973 decision by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to remove homosexuality from its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). The decision responded to a two year campaign Newsweek described as ongoing disruptive, chaotic attacks on psychiatrists and physiologists. Yet throughout these disruptive attacks and conferences, no papers were presented refuting any research previously done.

Eventually a third of APA’s 17,000 plus membership voted for removal. The under-voting and public attacks support the understanding that the decision came through intimidation, and not from scientific reasoning. Resolution of this protracted dispute demonstrated the DSM is as likely to accumulate political manifestos and marketing brochures as attempts at scientific exposition.

After this mercurial decision a task force was established to ensure perpetual sanctity for the APA action. No research papers would again arise to confirm initial therapy success rates of 30% to 60 %, substantiating that 7 of 10 homosexuals could eventually walk away from the lifestyle forever. This new task force would set standards for research review. The standards ensured pre-ordained theses, acceptable flexibility in design definitions, and proper human data points using carefully screened questions and behaviors. Psychology and Psychiatry chose to abandon scientific rigor in exchange for popular societal and political acclaim.

My Representative presents an argument in favor of repeal, which betrays a basic misunderstanding of the character of military service. He says, “The private, legal sexual conduct of military personnel off duty and off base, whether homosexual or heterosexual, should not be of interest to the Pentagon leadership. The bottom line is that an individual’s performance in uniform is what should count. Sexual contact on base is already governed by the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) - the judicial code that all military personnel are subject to.”

Military operations to protect this country are not conducted on base, and there are no opportunities for off duty or private time. Military personnel are forward deployed, locked in small task oriented units, and continuously face extraordinary stress if not actual combat. These environments are inherently chaotic and brittle.

For evaluating success within these environments, Psychology and Psychiatry should make a meaningful contribution. However, their fraudulent 1973 decision enables base antidotal prattle to dominate. These disciplines underwrite thoughtless political and societal acclamation, instead of examining whether any mental disorders are acceptable for people seeking or retaining military service. In such an environment, there is little chance people will consider military service should always be the ultimate meritocracy to compete successfully against enemies unconcerned with social engineering.

Jewish, Christian, and Muslim believers find their Constitutionally guaranteed freedom of religion threatened by the repeal. For many followers of the desert religions, who send their pastors into the chaplaincy and their believers into military service, homosexuality is not a life style. Instead it finds its place among the myriad sins entrapping each person who lives in a fallen world, and struggles with a fallen nature.

Reasonable scholarship must conclude followers of the desert religions cannot accept homosexual relationships. The Old Testament, holy to “People of the Book”, speaks of the character, identity, and purpose of God in a manner, which continuously addresses the issue of homosexual behavior. He is spoken of as masculine, and all humans become feminine in relation to Him. The scriptures say that in addition to creating all things, God created the single institution of heterosexual marriage. Marriage between a man and woman presents the earthy manifestation of the relationship He seeks with all human beings. Therefore, pursuing other human sexual relationships becomes a rejection of God. Any arguments from the scriptures must move forward from that foundation.

The Christian faith contains the additional revelation of humans as the Bride of Christ. To restore relationship lost in Eden, God sent Christ to die for all human sins, but people must repent of all their sins. To pursue sexual sin including fornication, adultery, or homosexual behavior is to reject His identity and His character, and therefore repudiate His gift of salvation renewing relationship.

If it weren't so blatantly obvious that he is destroying the country and the military deliberately, one would have to ponder why an American President would waste his time on trivialities like this when there are so many other issues of greater importance to be dealt with.

Heh heh...

Gay Community is black mailing obummer....gay community talks openly about how amazing it is to have a homo, one of their own in the White House.

They are blackmailing obummer in regards to not coming out with Obummer’s homo interactions. The gays will talk if necessary about Obummers homo relations with other men in Chicago and beyond.

All foreigners know Obummer is gay too....just a matter of time before they start exposing it.

Other countries disrespect Obummer because he stays in the closet as a gay man, with his beard Michelle.

He will never have respect from those he bows to because they know he is living a double life. Afraid to come out of his homosexual closet.

Gay community is black mailing Obummer.

I guarantee whoever financed him (cough...soros...cough) has something to hang over his head to keep him from getting any independent ideas.

So don’t ask don’t tell gets repeaeled.

I can only assume the next step would be, “hey, there are no gay generals. This is discriminatory.”
