Pat Buchanan, Gaza, and What We Learn from Chris Matthews’ Neo-Communist Propaganda
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | June 18, 2010 | J. Christopher Pryor

While Chris Matthews’ special “Rise of the New Right” was nothing less than insulting to the intelligence, and pure propaganda, conservatives can learn something from it. If we do not clean our own house, somebody else will. There are many who march under the banner of conservative America, but who have their own agenda. They often keep this agenda to themselves until they are presented with the proper moment or event that provides them the opportunity of revealing themselves without risk of reprisal or censure.

Take the example of the Flotilla fiasco. The incident occurred on May 31, 2010 and was receiving wall-to-wall coverage by June 1st. By the time June 2nd rolled around, I had only one question. “Where’s Buchanan?” I did not have to wait long. On June 3rd, Buchanan came out with his article, Lift the Siege of Gaza.

It is sad that while having some fine insight on many issues, Buchannan has issues with Jews.

Anti-Semitism lies right under the surface with a lot of people and it can be a real shock to their friends when it pops out. In Buchanan's case it's been a constant. Part of it may stem from the undeniable association (judging from 100 years of voting records) between most American Jews and the Left.

To religious Christians (mostly Protestant) the politics are largely ignored in favor of religious and scriptural identification, something Pat Buchanan (RCC) and most Jews have a very hard time getting their heads around.

I have never understood anti-Semitism. There are plenty of groups out there worthy of my hate like people who hijack airplanes and fly them into building. But Jews? I don’t get it, it’s like hating Methodists or the Amish.

Usual disclaimer: I like Pat Buchanan. I could listen to him expound on any an every issue as long as Israel isn't involved.

The only thing about Israel and Buchanan that maves any sense is that the closest person he ever knew was killed in the USS Liberty.

How is it that Sean Hannity will spend hours attacking the liberal bias against Israel, but will then interview Buchanan as an expert?

Buchanan is an expert on the Middle East. So is James Earl Carter. So was Yasser Arafat.

The problem is interviewing them as if their opinions mean anything or their solutions could help anything.
