I would imagine that the marksmen selected for this duty all had a case of the “buck fever” from hell during this episode. The heart races and the adrenalin flows prior to shooting an animal. Can’t imagine what it would feel like prior to shooting another human being (guilty or not). I would think a properly restrained subject could be shot with rifles clamped to a bench. Then all you have to do is push a button. Less chance of a screw up.
