Obama Underwrites Offshore Drilling (Why Obama demands a drilling moratorium in America)

You read that headline correctly. Unfortunately, the Obama Administration is financing oil exploration off Brazil.

The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil's state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil's Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil's planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan.

The U.S. Export-Import Bank tells us it has issued a "preliminary commitment" letter to Petrobras in the amount of $2 billion and has discussed with Brazil the possibility of increasing that amount………………...

[snip]But look on the bright side. If President Obama has embraced offshore drilling in Brazil, why not in the old U.S.A.? The land of the sorta free and the home of the heavily indebted has enormous offshore oil deposits, and last year ahead of the November elections, with gasoline at $4 a gallon, Congress let a ban on offshore drilling expire.

[snip]The Bush Administration's five-year plan (2007-2012) to open the outer continental shelf to oil exploration included new lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico. But in 2007 environmentalists went to court to block drilling in Alaska and in April a federal court ruled in their favor. In May, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said his department was unsure whether that ruling applied only to Alaska or all offshore drilling. So it asked an appeals court for clarification. Late last month the court said the earlier decision applied only to Alaska, opening the way for the sale of leases in the Gulf. Mr. Salazar now says the sales will go forward on August 19.

Follow the money and the reasons become self evident...

-George Soros is the major stockholder of Petrobras. He started investing in Petrobras by buying an $811 million dollar stake in it two weeks before the Democratic party convention in 2008.

-Obamao was hand picked by Soros to be the Corruptocrats presidential nominee. He did so in Feb., 2008. That date coincides with the sabotage and destruction of Hillary’s campaign.

-Nancy Pelosi “hired” Joseph Onek as her chief advisor, he is also chief advisor to Soros’s Open Society Institute. Felix Rohatyn is one Pelosi’s chief financial backers and is head of the Rohatyn-Rudman National Investment Corporation, another Soros holding. Shortly after she hired Onek she made the statement that she was going to shut down offshore drilling in the US to “save the planet”.

-In 2009 the Obamao regime “invested” $2 billion in Petrobras.

-BP is heavily invested in Obamao-he received more campaign contributions then any other candidate. The apartment that Rahm Emanuel lived in for years rent free was owned by a BP advisor.

-BP and Petrobras have been working on developing South American oilfields. Countries noted for corruption where they can get cheap leases by bribing the right people and have no “environazi’s” around to worry about-the ruling regimes will just shoot any who dare to show up.

-If the US were to start tapping it’s own vast reserves of oil, natural gas, coal (and yes, they are vast-the propagandists want you to believe otherwise in order to keep us weak) and if the US started building nuclear plants we would truly be energy independant which would mean all the dictators/Islamofascists would not only lose a major source of their funding but would no longer have the US by the “short hairs”.

Petrobas receiving the $2B isn't BS, and Soros’ holdings in Petrobas are documented. The oil produced by Deep Horizons prior to this current unpleasantness was contracted to China — every single barrel. It's coming out of the Gulf of Mexico and making its way to China, and I would bet my bottom dollar (although it IS admittedly speculation) the barrels coming out of the offshore drilling in Brazil is headed there as well. We're being told to cut back, do with less, find new technology and pay the heavy price for less dependence on foreign oil when what's coming out of our own hemisphere is heading due East. How strange it is. I recognize the global economy and nobody wants those who have less to have more, but there is something intrinsically unfair in the current state of things.
