Knowing how the humidity and heat can intensify any odors, being there day after day breathing those fumes, couldn’t be a picnic.

What about the stuff you can’t smell?

Well, not "quite" true. It enhances some, and decreases the sensitivity for some. Chlorine, for example, can be better detected by smell under dry conditions.

That's what "field-portable" GC's, Mass Specs, and GC-Mass Specs are for. And you can bet that some of those either have been or are being deployed.
