Well, not "quite" true. It enhances some, and decreases the sensitivity for some. Chlorine, for example, can be better detected by smell under dry conditions.
"What about the stuff you cant smell?"
That's what "field-portable" GC's, Mass Specs, and GC-Mass Specs are for. And you can bet that some of those either have been or are being deployed.
Back in the Thirties when the East Texas Oil Boom was in full swing, crude oil was pouring into the ditches and streams like rivers, all over the area. Guess what the population prospered, the trees and plants survived.
“A report published by the Louisiana Environmental Action Network (LEAN) analyzed data released by the EPA taken from a testing site in Venice, LA between April 26 and May 26 (see chart). The results show unsafe levels of both Hydrogen Sulfide and VOCs in the air.
There have been rumors, reports and talk of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) developing plans to evacuate the Gulf coast for up to 200 miles inland if the air becomes too toxic to breathe. While that would obviously be a worst-case scenario, if it is true that the government is even considering that possibility, then that also may be cause for alarm.”
It will never happen without a civil war. I don’t think Obama and his fascist thugs understand the people that live in the states affected. They aren’t going anywhere without a fight...lol.
We can’t be sure of the PPM in any particular area, especially when mixed with other airborne chemicals. The beach areas are really tricky to nail down. Some areas are breezy while others, farther away from the beach can be dead calm.
From what I hear, they’re not letting anyone in the area to see for themselves.
Sure you can. That's what those instruments I referred to "do", separate one specific chemical from a host of others, and, quantify it (actually you identify and quantify as many as you can).
"From what I hear, theyre not letting anyone in the area to see for themselves."
You can be the guys with the instruments I mentioned "are" being let in. If no other group is out there, Ed Overton's group from LSU is. He has been chasing and quantifying oil spills since the Exxon Valdez.
Remember the movie, “Close Encounters (of the third kind)”
when the government faked a disease outbreak and evacuated the area for many miles around landing site?
This whole 17,000 NGs, chemical being sprayed over populated areas (at night) and the news blackouts make me wonder what’s next in this saga.
