LOS ANGELES -- The family of a 16-year-old California girl rescued from the Indian Ocean as she tried to sail solo around the world has no plans to cash in on their child's adventure with a reality TV show, documentary or any other deal, Abby Sunderland's mother told The Associated Press on Monday.
Marianne Sunderland also said reports the family signed a deal for a reality show while her daughter was at sea were untrue.

I didn't see this posted when I did a search. Later in the article, Mrs Sunderland stated there had been a deal but it fell through as no one bought it.

I read yesterday that a book was forthcoming. Smelled of the Balloon Boy publicity stunt when I read that.

Probably because if they did cash in they would be charged with a bill for her rescue.

Producer planned reality show on Abby Sunderland's voyage In this one, Mr Sunderland says "he withdrew from project when he learned that the program would portray a teenage girl facing nearly certain death on her trip."
Then the article says "The TV deal went sour just weeks into Abby's journey, the father said, when the producers were unable to sell his concept."

I wonder how much that boat that had to steam two days out of it’s way to pick up little miss mysogeny is out of pocket, and I do hope that mom and dad are going to make them whole.
I mean, if you’re gonna exercise your right to engage in extreme sports, then you shouuld also exercise your right to support your own expenses, eh?

you are correct, but you never answered my question: how many strangers cash does it take to support the dreams of this ‘just a kid’?

They should at least turn over the boat as partial payment towards the rescue.

I’ve read that they still owe money on the boat.

I ouwld certainly hope that those who went way out of their plans to save this kid’s life aren’t going to have to pay for the privelige.

"little miss mysogeny"I don't understand what you mean by calling her that. Are you implying that she is a misogynist, a hater of women? I'm confused.

In this one, Mr Sunderland says "he withdrew from project when he learned that the program would portray a teenage girl facing nearly certain death on her trip." You mean like what happened without the program? Larry is projecting here.
Meanwhile the producer has said they walked away from the deal at Cabo San Lucas, because even he, a non-sailor, could see that Larry was organising a cluster-f~~~. And he has witnesses, and the contracts signed by Larry, Marianne, and Abby to back his case. His lawyers will be acting on Larry.

I think the family is backpedaling because of the negative publicity.

I think the family is backpedaling because of the negative publicity. No. The family is simply responding to the negative publicity fabricated by people like you.
