Unfortunately, it's hardly an equal comparison to compare a 16-year old soldier serving the nation with a 16-year old left to fend for herself on the high seas with the full approval of those who are supposed to be her guardians.
That said, there is no doubt that this young lady conducted herself admirably, and I am very glad she is alive. It is also natural to ask whether the trip was appropriate.
