No telling what it cost to look for her.
I applaud her courage and her dream , but these people who do these things cost a fortune to find when things go bad.
Happy she was found and assume she is now safe.

At least $300,000 for what Australia has done (chartering a Qantas airbus to find her, and putting two Orions on station in case they were needed to airdrop supplies or find her again).
Add in the costs for the three ships that diverted to pick her up - close to half a million all up, I’d say.

it's a rule of the sea. more like common courtesy. If someone can help they do... because the sea is a wicked b#tch and someday you may need all hands to come to your rescue. That's why most sailors and mariners are very quick to respond to calls for help and usually don't carry on about the inconvenience.
Just common courtesy... odd huh?
