Obama to POLITICO: GOP shares the blame for spill

President Barack Obama said Friday that some members of Congress should share the blame for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

In an interview with POLITICO, the president said: “I think it’s fair to say, if six months ago, before this spill had happened, I had gone up to Congress and I had said we need to crack down a lot harder on oil companies and we need to spend more money on technology to respond in case of a catastrophic spill, there are folks up there, who will not be named, who would have said this is classic, big-government overregulation and wasteful spending.”

The president also implied that anti-big government types such as Tea Party activists were being hypocritical on the issue.

“Some of the same folks who have been hollering and saying ‘do something’ are the same folks who, just two or three months ago, were suggesting that government needs to stop doing so much,” Obama said. “Some of the same people who are saying the president needs to show leadership and solve this problem are some of the same folks who, just a few months ago, were saying this guy is trying to engineer a takeover of our society through the federal government that is going to restrict our freedoms.”

just wait. Soon Obozo will blame the American people are responsible for the Gulf Oil Spill and ensuing crisis because of the Americans desire for success. See America needs to share the wealth and America is standing in the way of other countries being successful. More BS coming from the Whine House. Send Obozo a little cheese with the whine.

“Yes, immature, petty, and thinks the simplest arguments are clever, even though the average 7th grader can make more rational arguments.
How did we end up with this clown in the White House? I thought the Clinton’s were trailer=park trash, but they had double the “class” of the Obamas.”

Because a vast percentage of the American public
has been dumbed down to the level of moron.
I want to smash things when I hear people, mostly Marxist media types, continuing to say what a great orator and bright guy Obambie is.
Do not forget, over 40 percent still think he is the cat’s meow...sickening.

I continue to say that America is finished.

Dear Mr. president,

Lately I am finding it extremely difficult to show respect to you or even to the office you hold at the moment. On this one point we can agree, government holds a certain level of responsibility to the BP Spill or any major environmental disaster.

There were and are a number of ongoing failures on the part of your government. These failures range from not accepting international assistance to clean-up the spill, mitigate the spill, and minimize the damage from the spill to the EPA and DHS having spill plans in place without appropriate allocation of equipment and I will refer to the policies put in place by Congress that have forced oil companies into positions of high risk due to over regulation.

Some of us Mr. president, understand that major natural resources such as oil are required by our nation. They are required because oil isn’t just about transportation and gasoline. Oil and its byproducts touch our lives in millions of places we would never even consider. It is that understanding in which we, We the People, have worked with oil companies to create, maintain, and grow our economy. This understanding leads or should lead to the cooperation that these risks are indeed carried by not only the oil companies and stakeholders, but every citizen.

If we want, if we need these resources then we all must accept and bear the responsibility for when disaster strikes. Mr. president that responsibility has not been upheld by your administration in the face of this crisis. Mr. president that responsibility which you are legally bound to implement in response to this spill has not been implemented and this citizen views as “willful negligence” on the part of your office, the EPA, and Homeland Security.

BP Oil had a horrible accident. An accident so egregious is may cost them their entire operation from the fines, fees, and litigation. Mr. president, you had it within your power to minimize the damage, to be of heroic assistance and instead you chose “willful negligence” to let the crisis fester to advance an unsustainable agenda.

Mr. president, you have breached the trust every citizen expects to be able have in their leaders during a time of crisis.

If even a lowly EHS Field Tech can see your “willful negligence,” then it rises to the level of criminal behavior and you should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. You see Mr. president, under the environmental laws of the United States of America it is not just the companies that can be prosecuted. Individuals who were “willfully negligent” in the delegated duties can be held criminally liable.

Obama OWNS this: lock, stock, and Oil Barrel. It is his, and his administration’s baby, period. He has, as effectively as if by his hand, destroyed coastline, and wounded economies in the gulf.

I think you are right, he is close to imploding. We just need to keep the pressure on...with his inattention span directed to the well blow out, it is now time to open up another front...keep jabbing. As one said well, float like a butterfly and sting like a bee.

The loser/liar had 60 votes, he could do anything he wanted.

He chose to do nothing and now in retrospect he’s going to blame the republicans.

All that fingerpointing is representative of a sick twisted mind.

One would think that oil spill scenario we have now would be the top reason to have any regulations. This isn’t a regulatory problem it is a mismanagement problem. He allowed them to try and repair the well instead of sealing it off. They were too busy grifting the public trough to worry about a stinking oil spill or any subsequent regulation. The demos have owned the house and senate since 2007, would love to see the bills that addressed any of the current scenario we are in.

"He is edging towards psychotic detachment. "

From which side?

I think he is already was past that point. I don't think he feels any pressure at all. Look at all the parties and golf.

I suspect that every once in a while, an adviser recognizing the reality of the coming elections, talks him into showing some concern and making a trip to the gulf or statement. Then he comes out with something like the above and they regret mentioning it.

How about the blame: for the ongoing change to socialism; for even bigger government; for an incompetent, and, probably, illegal POTUS; for more tax increases; for more government “red tape” on everything; for ongoing and worsening risks to the national security of the entire U.S.; for ruining U.S. healthcare; for amnesty for illegal immigrants; for cap and trade legislation; for greatly increasing the U.S. national debt; for making way for leftists in control to continue to create way too much leftist legislation for most people to even count;...

LOL! He can say whatever he wants. But the Democrats control Congress. It’s his administration that didn’t enforce the laws. He’s such a whiner.
