Dutch Murder Suspect to Share Location of Second Victim
VOA ^ | June 11, 2010

U.S. media report a Dutch murder suspect in Peru has told police he is ready to lead authorities to the body of a missing American woman. Peruvian officials said late Thursday that 22-year-old Joran van der Sloot has agreed to tell authorities in Aruba where to find the remains of Natalie Holloway...The chief of Peru's criminal police told the Associated Press he does not know whether to take van der Sloot's offer seriously because he has made dubious claims about the Holloway case in the past....

Police moved the Dutchman to a cell at the prosecutor's office Thursday, dressing him in a bulletproof vest for the transfer. Van der Sloot's transfer came as new video was released, showing him and the Peruvian woman, Stephany Flores, 21, meeting and shaking hands at the casino. The Dutchman was in Peru for a poker tournament.

Later surveillance camera footage shows van der Sloot entering his hotel room with Flores after the two spent time at the casino, and of him leaving the room alone a few hours later....

New documents say the Dutchman told a family representative Holloway was buried at his father's house but that Aruban authorities determined the house had not been built at the time of the disappearance.

Last paragraph is unclear. If the house was under construction at the time, could that be where she is?

If Natalie had been my daughter, they would be looking for the remains of this guy.

What crock. This dirt ball is just angling for a way to get back to Aruba where he will be protected. Noticed in another article he said he would tell where she is but only to Aruba authorities.

He is just doing the same thing he did before; spread a dozen stories. I have no doubt he will change his “confession” a dozen times in Peru also.

The media sure has a short memory on this guy.

I have never followed the case, so forgive me if I'm way off ...

If the body were placed at certain location, and if this guy's father ended up buying that land, or (if he already owned the land) suddenly built a house on that place, then my feeling would be that the father might be an accessory after the fact.

His best bet is in hoping the authorities leave him his belt or shoelaces.

No matter...Daddy's dead...

And it could be that Daddy buried the body and didn't tell the son where...

Maybe we can arrange a deal where OJ can accompany him to Aruba, every stab wound removes one month from his sentence.

Good points, but the father is dead. The house Vandersloot supposedly said Natalie’s remains were hidden in wasn’t even under construction at the time of her death.

did you know this creep actually extorted $15,000.00 from Beth Holloway (Nat’s mom), telling her he would tell her where Nat’s body was? Of course, the FBI was in on it. And of course, he lied.

I hope for a very short stay in general population in a Peruvian prison for him. I hear a contract can be put out for as little as $50.00....I’m pretty sure Stephanie’s dad can come up with that kind of money. I hope Joran doesn’t have the TIME to rot in prison.

One can only hope this POS dies a horrible death in a Peruvian prison. He deserves everything he is (hopefully) about to get.

It's called the law of the donkey in that prison.

He’s going to share a cell with about ten killers and rapists, who won’t be impressed with his machismo.

This blue-eyed foreigner won’t survive a year in that prison, after killing a popular local girl.

He’s going to spend the rest of his short life (maybe a year) wishing he had confessed in Aruba.

The father, unfortunately, died last February, so I doubt we’ll ever know the truth of what his role was. But the sequence of events is what you described, and there has long been suspicion that the father dispose of her body. The father has a haunted look in all the pictures I’ve seen of him, as if he realized what a monster he spawned, but perhaps what I was seeing in his eyes was guilt, as well.

That was my first thought too, trying to get his sorry but back to Aruba and thinking they will protect him and not let Peru have him back at that point.

Could this be a ploy by van der Sloot to plead to the Holloway murder in the hopes that Aruba will want him to serve time there for the earlier murder before Peru gets him for their murder? I imagine he’d do about anything to avoid a Peruvian prison, and I hope that he fails in that. Peru should keep their hands on him. If he goes back to Aruba then the extradition may take a while. Especially since the little bastard’s father is a judge there.

I suspect that you are right that he is trying in any way he can to get himself out of Peru and back to Aruba. There is no reason why, if he is telling the truth, he can’t describe where her remains are without leaving Lima. I don’t think the Peruvians will go along with it. They are not going to let him out of their clutches. But what a manipulative little bas***d he is.
