A now-disbarred Florida lawyer who admitted to orchestrating a huge Ponzi scheme gave more than $180,000 to Arizona Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign, contributions that McCain's Senate rival is now making an issue in their competitive primary.

Scott Rothstein was sentenced Wednesday to 50 years in prison after he confessed to running a $1.2 billion fraud using faked legal settlements.

Rothstein also was a key contributor and fundraiser who bundled more than $500,000 in campaign contributions for McCain's 2008 race, according to the campaign finance watchdog Center for Responsive Politics.

even though not a mccain supporter and hope jd wins...think you really can’t hold a candidate responsible for how his supporters act. Unless all of them are crooks. He should just remind voters of one issue. McCain voted against the tax cuts that will go back into effect this coming year.

To John McCain:
Thank you for your service.
Please go home and try to enjoy
the few remaining years of your life.
Go home, John, please, just go home.

Well, the poli-whore openly confessed to being corrupt during the debate of McCain Feingold. He talked about all the money flowing around in Washington.

I guess we should just take him at his word.

The hits just keep coming.

Step down McCain.

Sign up at CNN as their “conservative” voice. You’re a natural fit.

McCain is dirty. It’s no secret. His carefully constructed house of cards in which he has portrayed himself as some sort of ‘last honest man’, ‘maverick’, blah-blah-blah, was bound to start coming down sooner or later.

Maybe Sarah could return that $180,000 for McStain, in his behalf. Like her groupies and sycophants all mutter, “she owes him”.
