A 20-year-old guest student has been charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly making a bomb threat at Dominican University's Priory Campus on Wednesday.
Mohamed Mahdey S. Al Shria was arrested at his host's home in River Forest about an hour after making the threat, according to a release sent out by River Forest police.
No evidence of a bomb was found on campus or at Al Shria's host home.
Interim Police Chief Gregory Weiss said he believes the student made the threat after receiving a bad grade.
Al Shria, who is from Saudi Arabia, was studying English Language Studies, or ELS, at a program that is run out of a rented space on Dominican's campus, said Kristin Peterson, a spokesperson for the school.
"The students are not considered Dominican students, but they are able to use the facilities," she said.
Al Shria holds a valid student visa to study in the United States, according to police.
