Caught in the heat are NASA’s Dr. Judith Curry and a junk science equation by the space agency’s Dr. Gavin Schmidt creating disarray over a contentious Earth energy graph. The internal row was ignited by the release of a sensational new research paper discrediting calculations crucial to the greenhouse gas theory.

I found this article almost impossible to read. The author inserts his own lingo and unnecessarily deprecates the opposition while heaping praise on the papers which support his position. I much prefer a more even, unbiased exposition.

It reads like a bar discussion interspersed with scientific cites - not well written at all and detracting from the argument.

All climate models are bogus, they are contrived science.

The reason is that millions of years ago (Silurian, Ordivician, periods), when vertebrate life was established on land, CO₂ levels were well over 1000 ppm. Through natural change, CO₂ levels on Earth have varied widely, all while highly evolved life prospered.

Unless a climate model recapitulates that variation over those millions of years (and to a computer or mathematical reduction there is NO difference between a thousand years of the "hockey stick variety" and a hundred million years of real occurrence), then the model is worthless. Starting with a set of initial conditions it simply does not comprehensively imitate the factors which influence climate.

This should be logically obvious to any rigorously objective analyst, which apparently many climate "scientists" are not (like a bunch of control-freak global elitists).

Judith Curry does not work for NASA, as the first line implies. She is a professor at Georgia Tech, and is speaking at a NASA event. I’m sure she was compensated, but that is a little different that saying “NASA’s Judith Curry”. Perhaps a nit to some, but hey, people, let’s get it right.
