Susana Martinez, a prosecutor from southern New Mexico, won the Republican nomination for governor and will face Democrat Diane Denish in a general election race deciding who becomes New Mexico's first woman governor.

We will have a conservative Hispanic Republican ticket against a liberal Anglo Dem. Take that and smoke it, Obama!
You mean Bill Richardson wasn’t NM’s first woman Governor?
Hey neighbor! What do you think about Martinez? I was rooting for her. Glad to hear she did so well.
NM list PING!
(The NM list is available on my FR homepage for anyone to use. Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
A big, big win! She wiped the board! Her campaign was mostly financed by donations while Weh spent big bucks of his own money. She has an excellent chance of winning the governor's race.
You guys over there really have me fired up about that race. I’ll be hoping and praying for her. She sounds like she’s got what it takes during “the year of the Conservative Woman”. Way to go over there!!!
Another awesome endorsement by Governor Sarah Palin!
Excellent. I am rooting for her in the general. I would be most pleaseed to see my neighbours to the west shake free from the blue shackles.
Good news.
FUBO!!
;^)
Great news from NM!
All;
I voted for Martinez.
However, I learned yesterday from a pottery friend . . . who has a daughter working in Albquerque in an office with some access . . .
who doesn’t trust her to be an authentic conserviative, GOP etc . . . says she changed (supposedly) from being a Dem without any explanation etc. etc. etc.
Then there’s all the accusations back and forth.
What gives with the woman . . . anyone really have any solid inside info?
I voted for her somewhat on Palin’s comments. Yet given her supporting McChurian . . . goodness!
Not here. However, Weh sure tried to find some and came up with empty accusations. Being a successful prosecutor does not always translate to being a successful governor but a prosecutor can offer pleas (cut deals - I know, I watch Law and Order reruns!). She will have to negotiate with a Democratic legislature (that won't change), state employee unions, teachers, etc. She will have the liberal media against her plus the usual noisy Hispanic coalitions. It won't be easy for her if she wins but it would be impossible with Weh. Everyone has some baggage and I would be surprised if she didn't. But having come through a bruising campaign, I'm fully supporting her with my time and money.
Oh boy! My worthless DemoRat brother-in-law (If you know him he probably owes you money)from NM is visiting!
I get a chance to crow!
APPRECIATE THE INPUT.
INTERESTING.
Cool! For a change people I voted for won.
(Now, if we can just get them to win in November.)
I would like to Thank Cedar Dave, Rogle and other folks on the NM ping list for cluing me in to Weh.
