“Daughter of top CAIR official joined HAMAS caravan, met with HAMAS leaders with father’s support and approval”

SNIPPET: “In late December and early January, a convoy loaded with supplies, vehicles and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash under the banner of the group Viva Palestina, led by far-left UK politician George Galloway, wound its way through Europe, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt to its final destination - the awaiting arms of the Hamas terrorlords of Gaza. Along the way, this convoy was met by a number of Hamas leaders, including several who have been designated as global terrorists by the US government.

In early December, Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA), chairman of the House Subcommittee on Terrorism, asked for both the FBI and IRS to investigate the illegal fundraising and support of Hamas by Viva Palestina in the US.

Included in this Hamas support convoy were approximately 50 US citizens.”

This is nothing new, for the terrorists to hide behind “humanitarian” aid, organizations, etc. Wasn’t the Hezbollah claiming to be a humanitarian organization in their campaign to gain credibility and power in Lebanon?

SNIPPET: “The editor of the Egyptian government daily Al-Gumhouriyya, Muhammad ‘Ali Ibrahim, who is also an Egyptian MP, wrote a series for the paper titled “Hamas, Damascus, Iran - The New Axis of Evil.” In the series, he criticized Hamas, Syria, and Iran for their position vis-à-vis Gaza and the opening of the Rafah crossing. Ibrahim stated that Iran and Syria had conspired to keep the Palestinian problem unresolved and to take advantage of it to promote their interests in the region, and argued that Hamas was a tyrannical religious movement which was, like the Nazis in mid-20th-century Europe, pushing its people towards catastrophe by preferring Syria’s and Iran’s interests to those of the Palestinians.

Also in his articles, Ibrahim came out against Qatar, accusing it of sympathizing with the Iran-Syria axis and of airing anti-Egyptian programs on the Qatari TV channel Al-Jazeera. A few days later, the editor of the Egyptian weekly Roz Al-Yousef, ‘Abdallah Kamal, wrote in a similar vein. Both editors called Qatar hypocritical for criticizing Egyptian policy while at the same time attempting to forge ties with Israel and the U.S.

THE PRESIDENT: I hope so. I’m for a sustainable cease-fire. And a definition of a sustainable cease-fire is that Hamas stops firing rockets into Israel. And there will not be a sustainable cease-fire if they continue firing rockets. I happen to believe the choice is Hamas’s to make. And we believe that the best way to ensure that there is a sustainable cease-fire is to work with Egypt to stop the smuggling of arms into the Gaza that enables Hamas to continue to fire rockets. And so countries that supply weapons to Hamas have got to stop. And the international community needs to continue to pressure them to stop providing weapons.

Hamas, obviously, if they’re interested in a sustainable cease-fire, needs to stop arming. And then, of course, countries contingent to the Gaza need to work to stop the smuggling. And it’s a difficult — difficult task. I mean, there’s tunnels and, you know, great opportunities for people who want to continue to try to disrupt democracy to provide the weapons to do so.

Second part of your question, please, ma’am?

Q Do you approve of the Israeli conduct in this?

THE PRESIDENT: I think Israel has a right to defend herself. Obviously in any of these kinds of situations, I would hope that she would continue to be mindful of innocent folks, and that they help, you know, expedite the delivery of humanitarian aid.

And third, why haven’t we achieved peace? That’s a good question. It’s been a long time since they’ve had peace in the Middle East. Step one is to have a vision for what peace would look like. And in 2002, on the steps of the Rose Garden, I gave a speech about a two-state solution — two states, two democracies living side by side in peace. And we have worked hard to advance that idea. First thing is to convince all parties that the two states were necessary for peace.

And one thing that’s happened is, is that most people in the Middle East now accept the two-state solution as the best way for peace. Most Palestinians want their own state, and most Israelis understand there needs to be a democracy on their border in order for there to be long-lasting peace.

The challenge, of course, has been to lay out the conditions so that a peaceful state can emerge — in other words, helping the Palestinians in the West Bank develop security forces, which we have worked hard to do over the past years. And those security forces are now becoming more efficient, and Prime Minister Fayyad is using them effectively. The challenge is to develop — help the Palestinians develop a democracy — I mean, and a vibrant economy in their — that will help lead to democracy.

And the challenge, of course, is always complicated by the fact that people are willing to murder to stop the advance of freedom. And so the — Hamas, or for that matter al Qaeda, or other extremist groups, are willing to use violence to prevent free states from emerging. And that’s the big challenge.

And so the answer is — will this ever happen? I think it will. And I know we have advanced the process.

Q In your 2002 State of the Union address, you identified U.S. threats as an axis of evil — Iran, Iraq and North Korea. Iraq is relatively calm; North Korea is no longer on the terrorist threat list. How would you define, if, in fact, there is an axis of evil? And what is the greatest and most urgent threat when it comes to security that Barack Obama has to deal with?

THE PRESIDENT: The most urgent threat that he’ll have to deal with, and other Presidents after him will have to deal with, is an attack on our homeland. You know, I wish I could report that’s not the case, but there’s still an enemy out there that would like to inflict damage on America — Americans. And that will be the major threat.

North Korea is still a problem. There is a debate in the intel community about how big a problem they are. But one of my concerns is that there might be a highly enriched uranium program. And therefore it is really important that out of the six-party talks comes a strong verification regime. In other words, in order to advance our relations with North Korea, the North Korean government must honor the commitments it made to allow for strong verification measures to be in place, to ensure that they don’t develop a highly enriched uranium program, for example.

So they’re still dangerous, and Iran is still dangerous.

Syrian Paper: Turkish PM Calls For Sanctions Against Israel

In a speech at the convention of Turkey’s Justice and Development Party (AKP), Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the U.N. to impose sanctions on Israel because it was not honoring U.N. Security Council Resolution 1860 calling for a halt of the aggression against the Gaza Strip.

He said that the U.N. must force Israel to implement the resolution.

From TB2, posted by wardogs, who is a good and informed member there; what was in the ships, and how a good number of the “activists” were paid mercenaries to stir things up:

Channel 1 is reporting 50 flotilla terrorists turn out to be suspected Al Qaeda mercenaries. Over $1 million dollars in cash was found on the boat, including thousands of US dollars in the pockets of some of the bodies.

Israel TV reports that some of the flotilla terrorists were equipped with night vision equipment and ceramic vests. According to Israel’s Channel 2, some of the “activists” were mercenaries who were paid before boarding the ships to confront Israeli soldiers.

It seems that as predicted, they lied about the amount of cargo as well as what it contained. The “medicine” was all oputdated, probably going to be destroyed, but will be delivered anyway. I don’t have all the details yet, but the IDF has described the goods that were on the ships:

Among the equipment that the IDF agreed to show reporters were medical supplies, including electric vehicles for handicapped people, wheelchairs, stretchers, hospital beds and boxes of medicine. They also showed crates full of dry food products and children’s toys...”

And how much cargo was on board?

“...Levi said that eight trucks full of equipment had already crossed into Gaza and that 20 additional trucks would be transferred throughout the night and the following day...”

This didn’t include the concrete, though:

“...According to Levi, the soldiers also found construction equipment, including sacks of concrete and metal rods. He said that Israel did not allow those products to enter into the Gaza strip for fear that they would be used to construct fortifications for terrorists and for weapons manufacture...”

Assuming that the article is accurate and the majority of the cargo is being transported on 28 trucks, you can calculate roughly how much cargo was on board.

On the average week, Israel has been sending some 600 truckloads of goods to Gaza, with about 14,000 tons. That means that each truck holds roughly 25 tons or so.

Multiply that by 28 and we get a grand total of 700 tons of goods. This 700 tons is the majority of the cargo. meaning that we know that there is less than 1500 tons of cargo, probably closer to 1000. (The “Rachel Corrie” ship from Free Gaza is still en route to break the blockade, and it is said to have some 500 tons of cement.)

So, as I predicted, the “human rights” frauds have lied about the amount of goods that they were bringing, by an order of magnitude.
