Agree with your assessment completely. Back when I had tv, Greta was one of the hosts I respected the most on FOX. The best shows on FOX get the lowest ratings, and the worst shows on FOX get the best ratings.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong (I don’t know how to locate the statistics), but I believe Greta continues to lead the way in her time slot, ratings-wise.

Perhaps someone will chime in with the correct information.

I do NOT believe Anderson Cooper has better ratings.

“Never ask an open ended question!”

Only the dimmest of intellects violate this rule.

She did, therefore she is.

Boy, is that ever “damning with faint praise”.

That said, I think Greta is pretty smart, though I often don’t agree with her.

Greta’s show is more relaxed and in depth so I like it. I like her standing interviews where she and her subject stand.

Other shows are too frantic and ADD oriented. Bill O’Reilly brings on too many Fox people to comment

She’s a $cientologist. That’s enough to call almost everything else she says/believes into question.

When she first started so many years ago I didn't watch her. Period...end of story.
However, I've warmed to her somewhat over the intervening years. Some of her questions/interviews are lightweight, yet, overall, she gives some of the best interviews out there, IMO, on a nightly basis.

She should pay no attention to the harpies and just continue to do her job well.

I agree, but with limited resources to get an accurate and precise estimate, I went with a quick and dirty gross comparison that all could agree with. As long as BOR is allowed on the airways, Greta runs zer0 risk.

I agree, your assessment is correct.

She’s definitely smarter than O’Reilley but she should not make the mistake of getting caught up with emails from the “Bathroom Walls of the Universe” or what others call the Internet. Too much verbal pollution.

"e.g" means "for example.

I believe that GS latches onto popular stories way too often, and I believe it is this tendency of hers which got her initially interested in Governor Palin.

Anyway, please spare me the whole, OH-YOU-MUST-WATHCH anybody on TV, they're all creeps, and insofar as GS, although I believe that she is highly intelligent, she certainly isn't SMART enough to not be a Scientologist.

Where you and others feel it's just fine if she's a cult member, that's NOT the type of person whom I want to filter my news.

I wonder if she's trying to get the Palin family to convert??

LOL

Greta is the only Fox commentator I take seriously. She sharp, well prepared and a real journalist.

I am bringing to hate Fox news, it is nothing but one advertisement after another. Except for Greta I've stop watching Fox.

Her husband was a big Dem but now a Palin supporter. Both are Scientologists so I dismiss them completely as naive cultists. Nobody, repeat nobody, in their right mind can support Scientology.

I've been reading about John Coale in the FR archives, and it's just amazing how many freepers are standing up for Sarah's RIGHT to have close friends who are Scientologists. Just amazing.

The articles themselves are pretty lame & nonconsequential, but the responses, wow, can be very telling.

Greta's hubbie, John Coale has been a major behind-the-scenes Democrat operative for decades.

They are Scientologists; I agree.

Nevertheless, I am unwilling to dismiss people without more information.

Are they devout Scientologists? I don’t know. While I am Catholic, I sure as heck know people “more” and “less” Catholic than I am, if you know what I mean. Same holds true for Baptists, Lutherans, etc.

Our “tent” is going to have to include people that, on the face of it, we don’t necessarily find a kinship in every way. I can live with that notion.

All I ask of potential occupants of our “tent” is this:

Fidelity to our beautiful Constitution
Goodwill toward one another.
And a willingness to fight to the death for the two things above.

I can live with anything that follows, provided those things.

Anything beyond that is gravy, far as I’m concerned.

I’m not saying those other crap rated channels beat here. I’m saying the FOX shows that draw the most viewers are usually the worst shows—BOR, Hannity, Shep. And the FOX shows with the least viewers (among fox shows) are the best -—Greta, Brit Hume (when he was on). I guess Beck is still pulling big numbers? People have different opinions about him. I think he’s a whack job.

That’s a good point you bring up, because Bret Bair has a great show!

As I often say around here, I’m an agnostic on Glenn Beck.lol

That said, his show on Friday was prolly his best ever. It was about black Americans who were kicking ass and taking names from the time of the Revolutionary War. The main reason I watched it was this:

My sweetie is an educator on the southside of Chicago. The entire student body is African-American. It is a struggle for the teachers to dig up role models that aren’t in the “slave class” as victims. I operate as his partner and researcher. lol For two years, he’s been teaching the Ben Carson biography, which I previewed for him. And parents thank him for using that book.

Once in a while, he hits a home run, without scaring the hell out of everyone. Friday was one of those days.

Beck just copies 3 other radio talk show host. Not original at all and never went to college. I guess he is getting the word out and that is what matters. However, it does upset the other 3 people that know this.

The 3 people are Mark Levin, Michael Savage and Alex Jones. I don’t care he repeats, but just as long as he gives credit where it came from.

Truth be known Greta's voice grates on me. Much like Palin’s. When Greta interviews Palin I can't take it - grate fest.

"Unlike Hannity and BOR, she lets her interview subject talk, and does not try to run them over with her own opinion."

I agree with all your post but especially the above. Hannity is unwatchable as he mows over his guest just as they start to answer his questions.
