McChesney wrote in a column, "In the end, there is no real answer but to remove brick-by-brick the capitalist system itself, rebuilding the entire society on socialist principles." Glenn Beck has covered this guy, hope he reports on this.

Well, he’s joining a Marxist-led government agency, so he’ll be in good company.

Here's a little background on this organization from
discoverthenetworks.org:
"Founded in 2002, Free Press and its advocacy arm, the Free Press Action Fund, are tax-exempt media reform organizations that seek to counteract the power of big media corporations. Robert McChesney (a radical professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign), John Nichols (a Washington correspondent for The Nation), and Josh Silver (who has published extensively on such topics as media policy and campaign finance) co-founded the Free Press groups and currently direct their operations..."
Free Press receives financial support from George Soros Open Society Institute and the Joyce Foundation, among others.
"While many of its conferences have featured speakers advocating a reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine, Free Press has focused its efforts on advocating for net neutrality, progressive legislation that would allow the government greater regulatory control over the Internet" (emphasis mine).
"Even while its founders and conferences call for revolution, the overthrow of the capitalist system, and the socialization of America, Free Press has been regularly granted audiences not only with members of Congress, but with those overseeing media policy at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)."

There were 30 something Democrats who did not vote on Healthcare. Hard to understand why they go along with this agenda on other legislation. They must see the destruction of the US.

Now this is frightening. Tks for posting! It’s sometimes odd for us Euros that there are people/institutions in the USA that seem to be far more leftist than any over here.
I mean, we had and do have our own oddballs. But to dismantle capitalism stepwise and replace it by socialism?
Or is it that in America everything is possible, so this madness also?
To: andy58-in-nh
This is simply ideological nepotism, I am not sure why anyone is surprised by this. You take as an example the former communist countries where they too ensured the strongest representatives of communist ideology received great position of influence within the government. It is worrisome how this type of news is being received with apathy by most Americans. I am guessing some were busy watching the season finale of "Dancing with the Stars" or "American Idol". Or "Biggest Loser"...

Thus far, we're the losers funding his marxist experiments so we need to do whatever it takes to ensure majority win in the Senate this November. That will neuter him completely! That would be a good start!

The number of third-tier and below commies in this Administration is incredible.
Rooting them all out is going to take decades, if usual processes are followed.

"Ideological nepotism" is a very interesting turn of phrase to describe the kind of phenomenon we are presently witnessing in American government. In fact, one can make a reasonable argument that there is an unprecedented (and I would argue - troubling) level of incestuousness with regard to the Obama Administration's members.
Virtually key every member of Obama's cabinet and White House staff, his bureaucratic leadership appointees, and his many "czars" are or were members of the same organizations: most frequently the Center for American Progress, but also SEIU, ACORN, the Tides Foundation, Joyce Foundation, the Woods Fund, the Open Society Institute, Working Families Party, MoveOn, America Coming Together - and other members of a vast left-wing infrastructure which has no cognate on the right.
In keeping with the observation that Leftists frequently accuse conservatives of what they themselves are doing, one might be tempted to describe their web of political organizations, funding foundations and individuals as a "vast left-wing conspiracy".

They are simply being loyal and supportive to "the one" who is clearly attempting, and in most cases, succeeding turning this nation into a socialistic state. In their self-righteous arrogance they truly believe that marxism/socialism/communism (which is pretty much the same ideology, just semantics in what they differ) is the logical succession to capitalism and that sooner or later US will have no other choice but to follow. They believe that the reason this hasn't worked thus far in former communist country was due to the leadership and their abuse. As, Jonah Goldberg put it, it's simply communism with a smile on their face instead of a gun to one's head. What they fail to see is the reality that the only way to enforce the marxist mentality is to subjugate people and become tyrants, something which is happening already here, in some form, only carefully hidden as "sacrifices" for the greater good. Same "sacrifices" ended up with over the death of over 100 million people, which, per their own admission, it's a small price to pay!

Have you ever noticed that all these Communists have the same vapid voidless look in the pit their eyes? It is the look of bottomless and endless hunger for control over other people.
