McCarthy: Obama hasn't returned call of lawmaker representing district of rig
The Hill ^ | Friday May 28, 2010 | Molly K. Hooper

Chief Deputy Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) relayed a story Thursday morning at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast bolstering House Minority Leader John Boehner's (R-Ohio) charge of negligence on the part of the White House in the Gulf oil spill cleanup.

Asked if this was the president's Hurricane Katrina, McCarthy responded, "It very well could be."

He explained that Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), who represents the district in which the BP explosion occurred, said he tried reaching the president last Thursday to discuss possible solutions.

“He was called back by a staffer on Friday who said that the president was too busy to talk to him. He understood that until I turned on the TV and saw that he was golfing and went out to California to do a fundraiser. He said — six days now and he’s never even spoken to him," McCarthy said.

BO also had to prepare for the Marve Albert interview before the NBA game. He didn’t even have a teleprompter for that one. Too bad he didn’t pursue a profession he is qualified for...sports analyst.

It’s because the rep, like the Governor of LA, has the wrong letter (R) after his name.

Question - in the Gulf of Mexico, is the three mile limit applicable? Are these US waters or international ones?

Consider this: nobama is a genius. He has a high income, unlimited recreation, unlimited travel, unlimited asskissers surrounding him, weekly White House parties, unlimited Cam,p David access, bodyguards, hundreds waiting on his every whim and guaranteed financial future. Heck...the taxpayers are even paying to keep his mother-in-law and his illegal alien aunt. So what’s not for him to like? He’s a friggin’ genius. Movin’ On Up President. Taxpayers will be funding his folly at some level for 40+ more years.

Incompetance in the face of a disaster is both a high crime and misdemeanor.

Obama is clearly the most incompetent president in history. World History. This is the functional equivalent of Nero fiddling while Rome was burning.

Obama is golfing and the Gulf of Mexico may very well burst into flames.

Obama's foreign and domestic policies have been nothing but one failure and disaster on top of another.

And this is only the beginning. We have at least another 2 years of this and judging from the idiocy of the American electorate in voting in the likes of Pelosi and Reid and Obama, we may get another 4 after that.

If the Republicans take back the house in November the first order of business MUST be to draw up articles of impeachment.

Maybe this is nitpicking, but I don't believe the BP explosion would have occurred in anyone's district, unless it happened within 12 miles of the coast.

That said, there was still no excuse for 0 not to maintain a running dialogue with any congressman whose district is having, or is going to have, oil washing up on its shores.

It is becoming more apparent every day that 0 is handling this whole mess in a way that, had he been his predecessor, would have gotten him barbecued by every media outlet from here to Pago Pago. But of course, being the media's very own Annointed One, the One on which all their utopian hopes and dreams rest, he gets a free pass on this, as with everything else he's ever done or said. We should be used to this by now, but it still grates.

With any justice it will be at Leavenworth Kansas.

He’s too busy?? Yes, he’s too busy: 1) flying 3,000 miles to attend a fundraiser for Barbara Boxer; 2) partying at the Getty mansion; 3) taking a vacation in Chicago; 4) golfing; 5) talking sports; 6) hosting the soccer team at the White House before they leave for the World Cup; 7) coaching the Mexican president on how to trash US immigration policy; 8) putting on a lavish party at taxpayer expense for the same Mexican president after he’s trashed the US and while the “real” unemployment rate is 17.5 percent. He’s so busy with these “important” things he can’t be bothered: 1) with an environmental disaster (his government is incompetent to handle this but they’re ready to take over the healthcare sector, 1/6 of the economy and decide who needs/gets what care; 2) honoring the vets and their families on Memorial Day; 3) showing the slightest concern about our borders. Now THAT’S a really busy man!

It’s in the 200 mile exclusive economic zone. Where the oil is washing up is most definitely in various pols districts.

"“He was called back by a staffer on Friday who said that the president was too busy to talk to him. He understood that until I turned on the TV and saw that he was golfing and went out to California to do a fundraiser. "

Reminds me of the Angie's List TV commercial:

"At my 41 week appointment, my OB decided to induce me, but I guess I took longer than he expected because just as I went into hard labor, he told me he was leaving for an important meeting. On his way out, he said goodbye, dressed in his tennis clothes. One hour later, I was getting a c-section… while he was out practicing his serve."

Obama should be added to the "DON'T HIRE" section of Angie's List.

Rep. Steve Scalise needs to get in line behind Gov. Jan Brewer. The O has to contact these people on a first-come, first-ignore basis.
