About that boycott of Arizona over its new illegal immigrant law? 82% of Americans say, Nah!
L.A.Times ^ | May 27, 2010

Despite President Obama's claim that he sees no congressional appetite to address immigration reform this midterm election year, there's more convincing evidence this week that Americans want it.

No White House administration wants to admit that it governs by polls. And this one hasn't. For more than a year now polls have shown the top concerns on American minds are....

...jobs and the economy. As a result, this Obama White House and the whopping Democratic congressional majorities lead by Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi invested those many months in rancorous intra-party debate to obtain broad healthcare legislation.

But pollsters keep asking the other questions:

Out Wednesday is a new CNN/Public Opinion poll indicating that even more Americans want:

-- The number of illegal immigrants decreased (76%, up from 73%).

-- Illegal immigrants removed from the country (41%, up from 37%).

-- To halt the influx of illegal immigrants and deport those here (60%).

-- To assign more federal agents to security on the Mexico border (88%).

-- To fine employers of illegal immigrants tens of thousands of dollars (71%).

As you may know, frustrated with federal inaction on border security, Arizona recently passed its own tough new law on illegal immigrants. Asked, "Do you favor or oppose this law?" 57% were in favor of it and 37% were opposed.

Now, how about boycotting Arizona over this new law? Nope -- 82%.

I’m thinking that AZ looks like a great place to retire. Once they get that illegal alien problem worked out that is.

They should have an open hunting season on anyone trying to invade the USA. I classify anyone who wants to cross the border illegally an invader. Let us sit along the border and pay us X amount of dollars for each invader we stop. Bring in the scalps and get paid.

All of the politically motivated BS rhetoric aside, Americans, by and large, though a vastly tolerant people, are utterly sick and tired of being taken advantage of by masses of ill tempered Mexicans seeking to obtain for themselves, at taxpayer expense, Uncle Sugar’s enormous package of social benefits.

Go to the Valley of the Sun where you will see some of the most beautiful sunsets ever.

See the beauty of the desert in bloom or not.

Visit the ruins like Montezuma’s Castle and Casa Grande and the Grand Canyon and Sedona and Flagstaff.

Walk in the desert once in your life.

Read about Arizona and then go visit there and SPEND YOUR MONEY as there is a lot to spend it on...good food, shops, western items and see the old west and where it is today.

We were going to vacation in San Francisco this year but after they started the boycott BS we decided to vacation in Arizona this year. The hotel people in San Francisco were’nt too happy when I cancelled my reservation. Suggest all Americans stop providing vacation money to liberal bastions like Boston, Seattle, San Francisco, etc. Keeping money out of liberal hands will starve the beast.

You will love Arizona. Of course, if you are going in the summer you can expect it to be hot. Winter is just lovely but...even if you do go in the summer there are plenty of pools and water activities etc. Have a fun, safe vacation for you and your family in Arizona!!!! :)
