Long long ago (c. 30 years), I had to demonstrate my fitness for repairing machinery by carrying the toolbox up and down the hall at the interview. I’ve got no use at all for the “gotta have a penis” theory. Men do have better upper-body-strength, but women can compensate for that. I was the only one on the team who did NOT have a bad back, because I KNEW I wasn’t strong enough to just pick big heavy things up.

I agree with you that men have greater, much greater even, upper-body strength. So I also believe that jobs that require it are not for women. But any job that requires intellectual muscle should not even begin to suggest gender as a way to assess the holder’s adequacy for the position.

I actually agree with you George and I'm a girl. G-d did throw a little wrench in gene pool though with my blond haired, blue eyed daughter. She's running circles around the boys in high school in her Freshman year as a Math/Physics major. Even the Senior Asians think she's cool!
