re: standing between the oil companies and the pitchforks

Maybe it's my advancing age, or perhaps I'm just mentally defective, but I consider the oil companies one of our greatest assets in today's energy-driven world! We pay less, a lot less, than almost anyone else in the world and we have what seems to be an endless supply of gas, anytime and anywhere in the US. Sure, it costs more than we want to pay, but do without it for a few weeks or a month, and people will consider even the $4/gal price a real bargain.

It's impossible to overstate the luxury we have as Americans to be able to pull into a gas station just about anywhere, anytime and FILL a 30 or 40 gallon tank with quality fuel.

Much of what we see as the evil of the oil companies is the result of five plus decades of active obstruction by the libs and environmentalists who are much more desirous of destroying our way of life than preventing oil spills.

I tend to agree with you about the oil industry. My comment was more of a comment on what Obama is trying to do.

He’s pointing fingers at BP while shirking his own responsibility. He wants this to inflict the greatest amount of harm to the greatest number of people for as long as possible.

Its what a community organizer does. They pour gasoline on the fire, block the firefighters from doing their jobs, and blame banks, corporations and landlords for the lost homes.
