It sounds like they are laying to ground work for us to be sitting ducks and NOT respond to terrorists attacks, because it may upset the jihadists...

WTF??? This sounds like total crazy nonsense! It’s not terror and they aren’t terrorists because we say so?? Too bizarre.

Sounds like a liberal trying to rationalize cowardice.

Peace through weakness?

Alan Keyes warned the country six years ago in no uncertain terms about this exact thing. All he got for it was abuse, mainly from Republicans.

Keyes-Obama debate, October 12, 2004

MODERATOR: Would you please assess where the U.S. stands diplomatically? Do we have a bad reputation now?

OBAMA: Well, I think that this administration has not been very good at what's been called the exercise of "soft power." You know, all of us recognize and reserve the right of the United States to exercise its military power in the national interest and for our national security--but we also have to recognize that a lot of our power comes from our ideals, our belief in freedom, our belief in democracy, our belief in the ability to work things through in a manner that comports with whatever frameworks of international law that have been shaped. And I think that, unfortunately, this administration has tended to be dismissive of any international efforts--and in his campaign, I think you witness it with a general disdain for, quote unquote, "globalism." In some cases, this is just a function of us trying to have conversations with our allies so that we can move more effectively.

KEYES: See, I think the great problem is that you cannot give a soft response to a hard threat. It would be kind of like trying to meet a bayonet with a spaghetti noodle. And it's not going to help the people of this country to survive.

After 9-11, we were faced with a hard threat. We had lost thousands of people, and we had to move aggressively. The belief that Afghanistan was enough is a belief based on a failure to understand the global infrastructure of terror--so that you deal with the threat that has hit you instead of with the threats that will hit you later if you neglect to preemptively move against their bases of support. It is precisely in order to create a situation in which maybe people who would be otherwise supportive of this bloodthirsty threat will respond a little better to your overtures that you move with decision against regimes like the Iraqi regime that had shown itself disposed to support terror, to fund terror, to be part gleefully of the global infrastructure of terror--and to act against them before they have the opportunity to act against you.

"our enemy is not terrorism, because terrorism is but a tactic."

Yep, it's a tactic of terrorists, you testosterone-impaired tool! This is equivalent to the police saying "crime is not our enemy, because crime is but a tactic."

Obama: U.S. nat’l security strategy to be based on education, clean energy, rights for terrorists

by Byron York

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/obama-us-natl-security-strategy-to-be-based-on-education-clean-energy-rights-for-terrorists-94707549.html#ixzz0p6UoqS2I

President Obama’s speech at West Point Saturday is the most sweeping statement yet of his plan to create a national security policy emphasizing education, clean energy, green jobs, anti-climate change measures, the granting of full American constitutional rights to accused terrorists, and “engagement” with America’s enemies.

New Afghan prison marks change in Obama strategy (orders lawyers for detainees)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2521283/posts

In September 2009, U.S. President Barack Obama decided to change policy toward prisoners at Bagram, granting them lawyers for the first time and a review of their status every 6 months.

Detainees can take literacy classes or lessons in farming and also have access to a high-tech medical center. There is a playground for their children when they come to visit.

About a quarter who have been reviewed since January have been sent back to their communities, said Martins.

Just whose side is this pathetic, treasonous putz John O. Brennan on?

This guy actually worked for the CIA and this is what he thinks about the Islamofascist threat?

Between Obambi, this guy, Reid, Pelosi and all the rest of Obammy’s regime, we’re doomed. I hope we survive long enough to impeach Obambi or vote him and the rest of the traitors out of office before we all get kiilled.

the United States must build global institutions and expand international partnerships beyond its traditional allies

What the hell does that mean? We already have a 'global institution' called the freaking UN!

This is what happens when the patients rule the asylum... We now see an administration filled with academic clowns with no real world experience discussing plans to refine strategy... Much like we see the same panty waists debate the oil spill... Where are the real men -the real leaders?

It is sadly clear that we must suffer a devastating attack, either via some spectacular 9-11 style plot, or perhaps a steady increase in “home-grown” terrorist acts, such as we have seen of late. Regardless, something is brewing, something bad, we can all smell it. And Obama is not only incompetent and feckless in the face of a new Islamo-Fascist offensive, but he may well actually believe that his pathetic and naive approach to this dangerous world is the answer. Right up to when the smoke and dust of a devastating and terrible “wake-up” conflagration obscure the streets of another American city, and when his poll ratings hit absolute rock bottom.

New Phase

As our enemy adapts and evolves their tactics,
We constantly adapt and evolve ours,
Not in a mad rush driven by fear.

Our enemy is not terrorism, because terrorism is but a tactic,
Our enemy is not terror, because terror is a state of mind,
We refuse to live in fear.

Nor do we describe our enemy as jihadists or Islamists,
Use of religious terms play into the false perception,
Nothing more than murderers.

The United States is at war,
War against al-Qaeda and its terrorist affiliates,
Exercise force prudently.

Death to our cities,
American values remain the primary U.S. weapons,
That is our choice.

“....when in fact, they are nothing more than murderers.”

Yeah, right. Murderers who scream Allah Akbar on their mission to martyrdom in heaven.

Karen DeYoung was the WP reporter covering the Sandinista fight against Somoza in the late 70’s and assured us, like Herbert Matthews did re Castro, that they weren’t communists.

She’s still full of shit.
