Well that and who goes to the library all that much now that we have the internet? ;)
Dear God, please bring a Chris Christie to California.
I hope that this guy slims down, because he seems like Presidential material and he needs to start training as such.
When my son was young, I brought a CD that had over 10,000 books (many of them are classics). He did not have to go to the library to get a book for a book report or project for most of his school years. Back then it cost about $ 59.
I really like Gov. Christie. He’s a man’s man who shoots straight. He’s a fighter and that’s what we need. I’m sick of accomodation and just getting along. Look what it got McCain. Whatever strength the Democrats have can be attributed to the lack of will by the candidates on our side. In a way Christie reminds me of David Copperfield’s Aunt Betsy Trotwood. She went head-to-head against the Murdstone’s and she and David came out on top. The point is: the Murdstone’s strength was always a result of the weakness of their enemies. Betsy didn’t flinch and neither does Christie, he fights!
Time to break the corrupt Teachers Union.
Pray for America
Okey doke...but only if he drops his twin brother off in Texas on the way!
Would not teach today. The pay is better, but things have changed so much, for the worst.
Can we trade him for Arnold and Boxer? How Refreshing this man is.
The colleges keep on churning out teachers.she is replaceable(for considerably and reasonably less pay). Her attitude and inflexibility is part of the problem. The entitlement mentality is what is destroying the USA.
Then one day the principal made a comment, "We're an impacted district, you are hereby draft exempt".
Well being of part Irish ancestry, I took that as an insult - started Basic Training at Fort Ord, 10 days later.

I go to the library all of the time in my town. It is almost always empty. I always wonder why it is. When I go to Barnes and Noble it is packed. It makes no sense.

In addition, when I lived in Minneapolis their downtown library seemed like a daytime homeless shelter more than anything.
Bill O’ Reilly sure didn’t mind using that dodge.
Barnes and Noble knows how to attract customers.
I buy books at garage sales and used book stores. I do my research on the internet. I have not darkened the doorway of a library in probably ten years. It doesn’t mean that nobody will though. I just think that, like public schools, they are not necessary any more. Technology and culture have bypassed them.
They are expensive for a town to maintain. However, I rarely read a book twice. So I refuse to go to a bookstore and spend 30 dollars to buy a book, when I can read it for free. I do internet research at home though. I would say most libraries are underused, and towns should question their funding.
I get Tom Clancy books at garage sales. Typically a buck for one of those massive hardbacks.
I think students use libraries a lot, and I think that in a world of expensive or relatively rare books, or poor people, libraries are an excellent way for a country to improve it’s culture. But the pump was primed in this country long ago. I agree with your last statement that small towns really need to re-evaluate their need for them.
