Because Americans are too busy filling out tax forms and paying for freebies for unions and people that refuse to work.

And watching 90 of the top 100 TV shows instead of educating themselves.

Remember the old 20/80 rule?
Twenty percent of workers in any group do 80% of the actual work?

With the U.S., 20% of the next generation make the effort and actually train themselves in all disciplines to maintain the U.S. tradition of technical excellence.

I'm serious...

I could be wrong. I thought it was Japan.

I could be wrong. I thought it was Japan. [Hole drillind in Worlds Smallest Wire]

It could be, but for some reason, the Swiss stuck in my mind - something about their bragging about their watchmaking precision.

Then again, it could just be an Urban Legend that uses various nationalities. If true, no matter who it was, it was a great putdown.

It’s not a legend. I saw the actual spring on the cover of Mechanical Engineering back in the 60’s. Yep, I’m old but I remember the picture. In fact, I had one of my designs on the cover of that magazine but another engineer took the credit for it. My boss at the time wanted me to sue him but it wouldn’t have made any difference. Who knows, I could have been a rich politician. Nah.....I like my honest life.
