No, it's not a political decision at all. He knows Chuck, he knows he's a solid conservative, and he knows he'd be the best for America in the Senate.
It's like saying those of us who endorsed Rubio early on when he was down by 25 points were inept. Or those who endorsed Reagan in 76. Or those who endorsed Toomey in 2004 over that POS Arlen. Or for that matter, those who endorsed Hunter the worthless RINO flip flopping morons in 2008.

the difference between those you mentioned and Devore is that the other ones had a chance to win. Devore has never gotten out of third place. He can not win. Rubio had no chance to beat Crist - who was out of the box endorsed by Cornyn and the NRSC - until DeMint, the Tea Parties, then Inhofe and Huckabee endorsed him.

Rubio surged early in the primary race. the primary has not even been held yet. Rubio made his case and the voters responded moving him into first forcing Crist out of the party. rubio was not in 3rd place 7 days out from the primary.
