RC Exclusive: Duncan Hunter Endorses Chuck DeVore

It's crunch time in the volatile battle for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate, as Chuck DeVore and Carly Fiorina scramble to inherit voters peeling away from Tom Campbell as they become more familiar with his record and philosophy.

Every bit helps in the final stretch of a fluid race, and it's my understanding DeVore will soon be announcing former San Diego Congressman Duncan Hunter, Sr., is endorsing him for U.S. Senate.

Given that Hunter made his mark as an unwavering advocate for a robust national defense, his endorsement burnishes DeVore's argument that his national security credentials are an asset in this race that are uniquely his among the GOP candidates. Plus, it helps put out the small brushfire the Los Angeles Times lit with it's May 21 profile of DeVore, which presented differing accounts by DeVore and Hunter of the former's role in the development of Israel's Arrow ballistic missile defense system in the 1980s.

Good question; there is no more credible conservative presidential candidate than Sarah Palin. It makes no sense to oppose her on this.
